Alice Walker's Daughter Slams Mom for Radical Feminist Ideology

Article here. Excerpt:

'Rebecca Walker explained her family feud for The Mail Online, a personal essay blasting her mother's lifelong hatred of motherhood.

"The truth is that I very nearly missed out on becoming a mother - thanks to being brought up by a rabid feminist who thought motherhood was about the worst thing that could happen to a woman.

You see, my mum taught me that children enslave women. I grew up believing that children are millstones around your neck, and the idea that motherhood can make you blissfully happy is a complete fairytale ... Feminism has much to answer for denigrating men and encouraging women to seek independence whatever the cost to their families."'

Really, nothing wrong with independence (if that means being single all your lufe, fine). Also nothing wrong with being child-free.

What is wrong is saying that these are desirable goals as a response to the INHERENTLY EVIL act of being in a relationship with a man. And as for kids, well, I suppose Alice never thought that telling her daughter that having kids was a terrible burden just might cause her to come to the concludion that gee, I'm unwanted/unloved by my own mom.

I have no problem saying that as parents go, Alice Walker sucked. Wouldn't blame her daughter for legally disowning her much less never seeing her again.
