Real women don’t need 'feminism'
Article here. Excerpt:
'Real women don’t need “feminism.”
That’s according to “The Monstrous Regiment of Women,” a Colin Gunn award-winning documentary that undercuts any strength that might be attributed to the feminist worldview.
Notable women’s advocate Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum explains it simply.
“The problem with feminism, I think the principal problem, is the cultivation of an attitude of victimization. Feminism tries to make women believe they are victims of an oppressive, male-dominated, patriarchal society. They wake up in the morning with a chip on their shoulder.”
The DVD soberly and maturely reveals the fallacies in that attitude.
“The Monstrous Regiment of Women” explains that feminists tell women not to submit to a husband, avoid having children, listen to their “inner voice” and chase a career.'

Not my thing, but I'm not the only dog in the pound
OK. I haven't seen the DVD. But based on the description, it looks like this DVD is basically telling women to stop trying to work for themselves and go find husbands who'll do that for them-- but also become religiously-observant, too, and accept a gender-based role as specified by a religious text.
If you're new to MANN, you won't know that such a set of suggestions make me reach for the nearest waste-basket. BUT... I fully recognize that I ain't the only dog in the pound. There are MRAs of both/either sexes who are traditionalists and some may also have heartfelt religious beliefs that are linked to them in some way that they also share in common with the producers of this DVD. So it may indeed be of interest to them and find it relevant. Just because it's not my cup of Ovaltine, well, if I had to agree with everyone else who was an MRA or anyone else in my life in order to take my next breath, I'd've croaked a long time ago.
But anyway, it also sounds like this DVD is focused less on MR issues and more on how feminism has affected women. Not having seen it, I can't then really say if it touches directly on MR issues. But deconstructing the tangle that is feminism is part and parcel of the MR cause.
