Man claims IRS agent coerced him into sex

Story here. Excerpt:

'(CBS) EUGENE, Ore. - An Oregon man is suing the U.S. Government and a female IRS agent he alleges pressured him into sex, by threatening a tax penalty.

Vincent Burroughs, of Fall Creek, Ore., says the harassing relationship began in August of 2011 when Dora Abrahamson, an agent with the Internal Revenue Service, called him and said he would be audited, CBS affiliate KVAL reports.

Burroughs says he didn't know Abrahamson, and that he hadn't met her before those calls - nor had he heard that he was being audited by the IRS.

"She was sending me texts that she wanted to come out, give me massages because she needed to help me relax," Burroughs said in a phone interview with KVAL News.
...
The lawsuit states: "She said that she could impose no penalty, or a 40% penalty, and that if he would give her what she wanted, she would give him what she needed."

As a result, Burroughs says he had sex with Abrahamson in his home that night.
In the lawsuit, he says he was "sexually harassed and intimidated."

The law firm representing Burroughs filed the suit with the U.S. District Court in Eugene on Jan. 25.'

It undermines one's claim legitimacy to have sex w/ someone in a power position over you when there is a redress system in place that can be used to address the harassment *before* the harassee complies w/ the harasser's demands. It's true for both sexes. He should've gone to law enforcement/an attorney before having sex w/ her.

As it stands now, just as in the case of a female making such a claim, it creates a lot of "reasonable doubt" abt the sincerity of your complaint. Rule 1 of anyone getting sexually harassed: Act ASAP to address it. Don't go it alone. *Anyone*, male or female, can be a harassment victim. If you get mugged, do you wait to call the cops/get a lawyer if needed to sue the mugger? No.

A lawsuit is a great way to bring more attention to men's rights issues. The claim should have been extortion, not sexual harassment. She used her position to extort sex from Burroughs and in exchange she claimed she would drop his tax penalty. By going along with her threats, he implicated himself.
