Girls Only Celebration Draws 700 Girls

'The day was about finding a reason to like yourself, finding support and finding friends. It was also the largest culminating event yet held by Girls Only, an HWDSB program that develops high self-esteem, mentoring and positive role models for female students.

On Friday, 700 girls from elementary school clubs across HWDSB gathered at Dofasco Recreation Park. They enjoyed physically active games, they shared a lunch, they heard inspirational speeches and they were both entertained and entertaining in the lead up to a group dance finale. The girls in grades 6 to 8 were also meeting secondary school students who will help with their transition to Grade 9.'
