DV Protection Law Goes Too Far

Live Free or Die sent us this link and writes "A blind, wheelchair-bound man was arrested by New Hampshire police for violating a restraining order - when he called his ex-wife on the phone. I really doubt a blind man in a wheelchair can be that much of a threat, and the police agreed. But they were forced to arrest him (and take him via ambulance to jail where they refused to hold him for liability reasons) because of the zero-tolerance domestic violence laws. The police would like to have "more discretion" on whether to arrest in cases like this."Source: The Union Leader [newspaper]
