Sen. Gillibrand pushes bill that targets gender pay disparity

Article here. Excerpt:

'STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- With women nationally still earning 77 cents for every dollar a man makes -- amounting to a $113 weekly wage gap on Staten Island -- U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand today renewed her push for passage of a bill to close corporate "loopholes" in the Equal Pay Act, which has been the law-of-the-land for more than four decades.

"Women make up more than half the country's population and more than half the workforce," Ms. Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said during a conference call with reporters on the Paycheck Fairness Act. "Women are out-earning men in college degrees and advanced degrees. But ... men are still out-earning women at work."
...
She said the Paycheck Fairness Act: Would mandate that employers prove any pay disparity is job related; would prohibit employers from retaliating against employees who share salary information with co-workers; strengthen punitive and compensatory damages; require the U.S. Department of Labor to improve outreach to employers to eliminate pay disparities; enhance the collection of wage information to address pay disparities, and create grant programs to strengthen the negotiation skills of girls and women.'

I didn't see anything in Gillibrand's nonsense about requiring women to actually perform the same work in every sense and every degree as men for the same money. What stinking hypocrisy and overt sexism on her part.

Women Will Get Equal Pay When They Earn It!

how part of the bill is to fund programs to improve negotiation skills for women only! In doing that, a sexist act in itself, aren't you kind of admitting that men's better negotiation skills are a large part of the reason for their better wages, and not sexism itself?

LOL. It reminds me of a line Jack Nicholson says in Sense and Sensibility. When asked "how do you write a woman so well?" by a female fan, he says "I picture a man, then I take away reason and accountability."
