'Connecting boys to the feminist movement'

Article here. Excerpt:

'Connecting girls, inspiring futures. The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is a call to action for women to involve their daughters, communities to involve their young girls.

By engaging with them we can connect them to the rich history of women before them, to each other through community involvement, to the world at large through social media. Raising our daughters to understand the issues of their gender and empowering them to act on injustice is one of the most important things mothers can do.

But our son’s need the same instruction. If they’re white, middle-to-upper class, and male, then they are the power set. Feminism has come beyond the days of male-bashing and bra-burning — if indeed they really existed at all as part of feminism. But our society has not come beyond the days of men on top and women on bottom, despite how good it looks on the surface.

How ideal, then, to infiltrate that group up top with men who understand the issues and concerns of women. Without men who are willing to listen and engage in change, the goals of feminism would stall.'

-Actually, feminism is nothing but man bashing. Also, women have far more resources dedicated to them and making them succeed, just for being female.

"Mothers are still doing the majority of housework and childcare, despite the fact that they work the same hours as fathers. And at work, they’re earning less, even with the same qualifications and experience."
-Then why does every study done on the subject of how much work men and women do always show that overall men work more when work done both inside and outside the home is taken into account? Why do studies show that women without children make more than their male counterparts?

Feminists write history to suit their own purposes and re-write their own history when it doesn't. Trying to say feminism is not about man-bashing is akin to their claim that women were oppressed throughout history. Both are examples of history written to suit their purposes, not history written in search of the truth. The idea they should strive for some measure of truth for its own sake is apparently beyond their ken.

Putting feminists in charge of raising boys is akin to putting the KKK in charge of raising blacks. Fortunately, the KKK is not in charge of raising blacks. Unfortunately, a lot of feminists are in charge of raising boys.

I decided to go back to the story to look at the comments. It's very nice to see that an overwhelming majority (about 95%) of those who commented on the story aren't buying into it.
