Wrestlers pulling for university to keep their sport

The program feels its being targeted to reduce the number of male athletes because the sport doesn't have a female counterpart.

"To be honest, most of the kids were shocked because as (Goldberger) spoke we didn't fit most of the criteria that he talked about," Cowman said. "That's why we feel that we can fight this."

The team, alumni and friends of the program have been active drumming up support since the committee made its recommendation.'
