'Short Version: Ohio SB 292 will raise child support levels in the face of the worst economy since the Great Depression. Background Information: Senator Shirley Smith (D-Cleveland) and Senator Bill Seitz (R-Cincinnati) have introduced Ohio SB 292 into the current Ohio legislative session. While the bill does have some significant positives, it has some very ugly negatives. These are all detailed here.'

If this crap passes the number of murder/suicides of family members will increase.
It is not in the interest of the state to set financial support levels above the bare minimum. Anything else is the parents choice and responsibility as in an intact marriage.

13th Amendment:
"Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

Although the principal purpose of the amendment was to abolish African slavery, it also abolished other forms of compulsory labor similar to slavery, no matter what they are called. For example, it abolished bond service and peonage, forms of compulsory service based on a servant's indebtedness to a master.

An individual has a right to refuse or discontinue employment. No state can make the quitting of work a crime, or establish criminal sanctions that hold unwilling persons to a particular labor.
