Man convicted of in-home indecent exposure
Story here. Excerpt:
'FAIRFAX, Va. - As Erick Williamson sees it, being naked is liberating, and if passers-by get an eyeful while he's standing in front of a picture window, that's not his problem.
A Fairfax County judge saw it a little differently Friday, convicting Williamson of indecent exposure in a case that has raised questions about what's OK when you're in your own home.
Two women said they saw much more of Williamson than they cared to in October, even though he never left the confines of his home. He received neither jail time nor a fine but is appealing anyway, saying a larger principle is at stake.
"I think that being tried and found guilty of something like this is outrageous," Williamson said after he was convicted and sentenced. "I feel like I'm living in a fishbowl."
Williamson testified that he never intended to expose himself and was simply exercising "personal freedom" as he spent several hours naked in his Springfield home packing up belongings.'

VA v. NY
Well I dunno about VA but in NY a person can be naked in front of a window in his or her (ie, his) if he or she (ie, he) is not behaving lewdly (touching oneself sexually or engaging in sexual conduct with another person), or if he (not she of course, but he) is not lingering without cause near a place where others are likely to see them through a window, whether or not these others are casual viewers (passers-by, neighbors at a distance, etc.)
In short, you can go about naked through your house if you live in NY. It's the law, in fact. However in VA, well, apparently not.
A man's home is his castle -- until a couple peeping tomgirls decide to file a complaint. Which provokes me to ask: Were any charges even considered against these women for "peeping-tomism"?
If you're female, well, none of this even matters. Do whatever you want.
of course not
Of course no charges were filed against the peepers. And equally certainly, if the gender rolls had been reversed, the 'peeping' man would have been in big trouble.
