Canada: Big Ideas: 'Womenomics' promises some wrenching changes -- particularly for men

Article here. Excerpt:

'Millennia of male dominance in workplaces, governments, companies and countries could come to an end in the next few decades.

The resulting changes will reverberate through every aspect of our lives and society. And, as with all revolutions, it may not go smoothly.

This revolutionary power shift isn't due to social programs or social engineering. It's about economics. Some call it "womenomics" because women already account for 80 per cent of all purchasing decisions.

More formidably, women may soon be the primary breadwinners. It's a trend that began more than 30 years ago as women flooded into colleges, universities and trade schools.

"It won't be race or ethnicity. It will be gender. We have no precedent for a world after the death of macho. But we can expect the transition to be wrenching, uneven, and possibly very violent."
...
It is a bleak forecast. Too bleak, really, since it neglects the reality that, for centuries, women have been discriminated against, forced into subservience or simply told to be quiet.

It may well be the death of macho. But it is also the liberation of half the world's people.

As a consequence, all us violent, dangerous, oppressive people (ie, men) will no longer be able to pay for dinner and other date-related stuff. Hell we may even be able to start charging women for sex instead of the other way around. All this will be a disappointment to my old lady but I guess she'll have to accept this brave new world herself. :)

Actually I am kind of warming up to this idea. I rather like there being few if any expectations around providing or of excelling. I think men will live longer the way women do now as a result of reduced stress.

I only wish I were younger to avoid the pending changes... alas by the time we get to this state I'll be drooling on myself.
