NOW President: Obama "pushing women back into the back alleys to die"
Article here. Feminists are the very definition of melodrama. Excerpt:
'She said she understood the president’s frustration in wanting to pass health care reform, but “it is not acceptable for him to achieve that goal by pushing women back into the back alleys to die.” And the anti-abortion amendment added to the health care reform legislation “does just that.”
...
“There’s no question that Hillary Clinton would have fought for our rights,” she says. “There’s no question that she would have understood the devastating implications of the Stupak-Pitts amendment. She would not have countenanced the Democratic leadership” of the House insisting that the amendment was allowed to be voted upon, which O’Neill says was a decision that essentially assured its inclusion in the bill.
Did she contact Clinton?
“She works for President Obama,” O’Neill says, “so that wouldn’t be appropriate.”'

"...so that wouldn’t be appropriate"
And just why not? If one can call Sec'y Hildebeast and say to her, as a citizen, he or she thinks US policy on X should be Y, then why can't NOW's reigning queen of happiness and joy not do the same thing?
At first I though, hmmm, this reinforces, in my mind, the old saying: "'Tis better to piss and moan and whine when you don't get what you want than it is to actually go after it." People of both sexes can do this pretty damn well. But then I kinda got to thinking. Hmm, that don't sound like Terry O'Neill. Either she is 1) not telling the truth when she says she hasn't contacted Mme. Hildebeast about this issue or 2) she and Her Imperial Beastliness are not on the friendliest of terms.
Isn't it ironic... don't you think? Just a bit ironic... yes, I really do think...
Hopefully
NOW President: Obama "pushing [pro-abortion] women back into the back alleys to die"
One can only hope. At least that way some good will come out of this healthcare mess.
Everytime one of these
Everytime one of these female idiots open their mouth they make themselves look ridiculous. It also serves as a sad reminder that men have allowed N.O.W and other feminist organisations to become so dominaint in the media and society.
Not even going to read it.
This is the same feminist stormtrooper who criticized Obama for playing B-ball with the boys - it seems clear that as long as he is a man, no matter what he does she'll never approve of him. If this is how O'neill sees a feminist pawn like Obama can you imagine the kind of esteem in which she holds the rest of our sex?

Rise, Rebel, Resist.
I'm not sure I undertand
Is she saying this part of this bill is worse than Bush's second-term thing? I'd find that hard to believe, and besides, I don't reacall reading about too many deaths in back alleys in the latter four years of his presidency (I think that's about the approximate time period that was covered). I'm sure it would have made the liberal press if it was even a small number.

Quite simple, really
If feminists don't get exactly what they want when they want is (and get someone else to pay for it) they are being mistreated and oppressed to the point of death in an alley. Sort of reminds me of the typical dating protocol (unchanged since 20,000 BC despite the "enormous strides" taken by women for "equality" lo these past 150 years) wherein the frozen tundra of the Arctic is warmer than the atmosphere at the table should a man himself on a date with a woman suggest that they split the bill.
It is insufficient that abortion is legal. It must also be subsidized if not paid for entirely by the gov't, which collects most of its money from taxes, most of which are paid by men or organizations operated by men.
Yes, it really is that simple.
Someone's spreading lies again.
The funny part about all of this is that Obama has bended over backwards more than any other President before him to please feminists, but has gotten nothing but flack from them.

Planned Parent Hood or other groups must be spreading rumors, because many women out there are under the impression that the Rep. Bart Stupak's amendment doesn't cover abortions where the mother's life is in danger. In fact the amendment just continues the status quo set by the 1976 Hyde amendment.
Just a heads up to everybody that Officer Kimberly Munley of the Fort Hood Police Department was in fact not the one who stopped the Fort Hood shooter, but Sergent Mark Todd.
They'd be funny, but...
They'd be funny, but they have too much political influence and their words have too great a history of destroying innocent men's lives.
What would feminists do without something to blow up into an issue that gets them the spotlight, center stage? One thing is a certainty, the only thing a feminist will ever want is "more."
For feminists to be truly working for equality between the sexes, they'd first need to become a men's organization promoting men's issues.
The woman cop at Ft. Hood
"Just a heads up to everybody that Officer Kimberly Munley of the Fort Hood Police Department was in fact not the one who stopped the Fort Hood shooter, but Sergent Mark Todd."
I still have to give her full credit for serving as a bullet stop, while the guy took the shooter down. Bullet stop is traditionally a man's role. Welcome to a man's role.
I also heard she returned fire. Did she shoot back first getting the guys attention, setting herself up as the prime target? It would be interesting to know all the details, but that may never come out, or come out in some dramatized TV version of events.
I wonder if the shooter went after her, because she was one of those Islamo-fascist despised, "shameless western women" wearing inappropriate dress? If so, wouldn't that be a hate crime? Where are the PC police to figure this one out? Hmmm.
I'm disappointed...
"...pushing women back into the back alleys to die.”
One a scale of 1 - 10 for maudlin tripe, a ten being best, I give it an 8+, but am terribly disappointed the words "coat hanger" were not fit somewhere into the hysterics.
Still, blowing that hard deserves recognition. You go girl - - - straight to the hot air balloon races, where gas bags are in need of some extra lift. :-)
Ditto, mcc99
Their stance here is simple: if they don't get their way, they'll hurt themselves, kind of like a kid who threatens to hold his breath and die if he doesn't get his way.
There's an easy way to avoid getting pregnant, the same way men are told to employ if they want to avoid getting a woman pregnant. If it's good enough for men, it's good enough for women.

It seems Terry O'Neill is much more of a media whore then Kim Gandy. She's like a flesh eating bacteria infecting virtually every media outlet.
Oh, by the way Terry, no ones going to let women die in some back alley. Jesus Christ, pull your self together! I heard Thorazine & Lorazepam is effective in treating paranoid schizophrenia.
Like most feminists, she's crazier then a shit house rat.
Much like looking at a train wreck, I can't wait to see her menopausal breakdown when she doesn't get a trillion dollars for the re-authorization of the VAWA. Even worse, she might not get to see a picture of Hillary on a three dollar bill or a statue of Andrea Dworkin next to the Lincoln Memorial.

I feel her pain
For some reason I can't picture Terry O'Neill without thinking of that lady what's-her-name in "Play Misty For Me". -the one who was out to get Clint Eastwood.
