Man arrested for making coffee naked in own home

Article here. Excerpt:

'A man was arrested for indecent exposure for being naked in his own kitchen. WTRV reports the circumstances:

29-year-old Eric Williamson says he walked into his kitchen to make coffee. Since he was home alone, he didn't bother getting dressed. A woman and a young boy walking outside saw Williamson through the window and called police. Investigators then arrested Williamson because they believe he wanted people outside to see him naked. But Williamson says that's not the case. He says he should be able to walk around naked in the privacy of his own home. If convicted, Williamson could face up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine.'

of a double standard.

i could see a man calling in complaining about a woman doing this and
winding up being charged of being a peeping-tom.

i will now make a point of making coffee in the buff, in protest.

ah, who am i kidding? been doing it for years.

scares the he11 out of the squirrels.

There was a time when I was younger that if you peeped into someone's home, you, the peeping tom, would receive the appropriate punishment. My, how times have changed.
Actually, as the ifeminist article correctly states, "If a man had made the same call about a woman who was naked in her own home, he would have been arrested as a Peeping Tom."

I personally knew a man who stepped out of his door on a winter morning to grab his newspaper and had the police called on him for indecent exposure.

I betcha if these guys were really good looking (to women) in the buff, none of this would have happened. [sigh]

"--the woman was trespassing on Williamson's property -- she cut across his front yard -- yet no charges were brought against her. Nor was it asked 1) why she looked into the window of a neighbor while committing trespass, or 2) did she have to invade his property to see through the window.

--the charge of indecent exposure requires an intent to be seen, which the arresting policeman cited. How could Willaimson predict that the woman would trespass at the exact moment he was making coffee in his kitchen?"

Unreal. Maybe she was even trying to see him - here's one possible scenario: since the woman was a neighbor, perhaps she had seen Williamson from a distance one or more times while walking on the sidewalk or street, and thought he was naked so wanted to get a closer look. So one day she decided to go for a walk about the time she had been seeing him in the past, then cut across his front yard to get a closer look. Then when she noticed the child also saw him, which she had not intended to happen, she called the police. One might ask, why did she bring the child? Perhaps she felt if she were walking alone and looked into his house, it would have appeared more suspicious - especially if she regularly walks the child in the morning.

Ultimately, the fact is that women have been known to strain or go out of their way to see exposed men, then get embarassed at their own behaviour and call the police. Especially if a given woman thinks the man saw her looking.

Yet another scenario is that as a neighbor, she had a bone to pick with him - even if he was not next door to her, maybe she was getting him back for one of her friends in the neighborhood, or something of that nature.

I hope these police never come to my house!

Here is an example where no crime occurred except in one's own mind. Couldn't the women just keep walking without calling any attention to the naked man? I doubt her child would have noticed a thing. Her child probably has more anxiety over her reporting it.

Even if we do assume the worst, that he wanted to be seen, I still think because he was in his home and the woman had a choice of not looking, that no crime occurred. And how much 'evidence' could the police really have in a case like this?

I grew up in a house that was prudish about nudity, I think it did more harm than good. Now I am the complete opposite.

My husband and I have discussions about how much nudity is OK within your own house and in front of your own kids. It's interesting how people can have such varying degrees of opinions. I understand how people can have different comfort levels. But when you are in your own house, and outsiders are looking in, their opinion should not matter.

BTW-
The only place I saw it reported that she was trespassing etc.was at the anti-feminist website, and they do not say where they gathered their information. No other reports mention this detail at all. Could they just be assuming or trying to 'pile it on' to make her look really bad without any basis? Until I have a reliable source I am not buying that she was on his property, but that point is really moot as I am siding with the man.

Can anyone tell when it became harmful to the wee psyche of today's women and children to see a naked person? Do the victims of such exposure fall on the ground and start to seize? Exactly how much therepy is required to wash this image out of their poor destroyed minds? How does fining the perp $2,000 correct the victims trauma?

These are questions that beg to be answered?

1) Rampant misandry has resulted in the severe demonization of male sexuality. Of course this includes hatred of the male body itself.

2)It has been reported that numerous women who have seen strange men naked have turned out to be serial killers or international terrorists; and even the lucky survivors who do not turn to crime experience lifelong trauma after their feminist therapist helps them recover the memory of the horrible event.

Guess which of nos. 1 and 2 is serious and which is sarcasm?

This brief article is followed by a comment section. The 2nd poster claims knowledge of the incident, though we know enough to take such web claims with many grains of salt.

This Fox interview put the case in perspective. IMO, the complainant is a trespasser and voyeur and should be charged.
