Ohio official says castration comment a joke

'FINDLAY, Ohio — A county commissioner said she was joking when she told a former county resident she wanted to castrate him and had the tools to do it. Jeff Davidson said Hancock County Commissioner Emily Walton, who is a veterinarian, made the comment to him during a heated telephone conversation last week over a neighborhood drainage issue. Davidson said the comment was unprofessional and that Walton should resign as commissioner.

Walton said Davidson had been disrespectful on the phone to her and to women working in the commission office several times. She says the castration comment is one she has used for years and that people with half a sense of humor understand.'

Okay, it was just a joke. So all's good and well. Also, "he was disrespectful to the women" ...Were the women disrespectful to him? I do know from my own experience over the years, that women at these places tend to be more obnoxious than men, when I have dealt with them over the phone.

'Jokes' about rape, sodomy, castration are not funny and not acceptable.

If the genders were reversed, I am sure harsh punishment or resignation would be in order.

It sounds like she has been using this castration 'line' to intimidate people for a long time.

She is a vet so I assume she performs castration on animals all the time. So she does, infact 'have the tools' like she said.

Disgusting and unprofessional!!
