'GILBERT - A Gilbert woman who admitted that she beat her husband with a hammer while he slept could receive the death penalty.

Prosecutors say Marissa-Suzanne Devault killed her husband, Dale Harrell, for financial gain, which makes her eligible for the death penalty because the alleged murder meets three of the 14 standards listed under state law

Devault claims she killed her husband because he physically abused her; however, police have not found any evidence of abuse.'
