UK: Prenatal Paternity Tests Blamed For Abortion

'The illegal use of DNA testing to determine the sex of fetuses in the developing world is widely known, but now, concern is growing in the United Kingdom that the availability of prenatal paternity tests is encouraging women to terminate fetuses that are the result of extramarital affairs.
According to Dan Leigh, the marketing director with DNA Solutions, a global DNA test firm with offices in 40 countries, the number of women opting for the prenatal paternity test shot up from 20 in 2002 to 500 last year.
"The testing technology has improved vastly," Leigh told ABC News. "It's become much more accessible."
"It's fairly common to see women take this test after their husbands have found out about an affair and want to know if they have fathered the child their wife is carrying," Leigh said.'

The thought of selected abortion
The thought of selected abortion is disgusting. However this particular quote is an OPINION:

Mr. Leigh states that there are no statistics to back up this claim and only 20% of the company's clients opt for the pre-testing counseling where such personal details might be revealed. Also, Mr. Leigh said his company has no records of abortions performed after pre-natal DNA testing. (Mr. Leigh is the marketing director, not a CEO or anything)
From what I know, most women that have affairs and consider abortion are not the kind of women that want a baby, period!... and would most likely have an early abortion regardless of whom the father is.
The pre-natal DNA procedure is very expensive and can only be done after 3 or 4 months of pregnancy. The procedure has been used in cases of rape. I would also think that it would be used when a woman has been involved with two men around the time of conception (either not very committed to either man, or ending one relationship and starting another). She is planning to go thru with the pregnancy, but needs to know the truth for everyone's sake.
