'That's right, today's feminism (or third wave feminism) is not about making men and women equal, it is about advancing women's rights at the expense of men (and sometimes other women). This crap can be seen in the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The name alone reeks of 'protected class'. Isn't ALL violence bad? Where is the Violence Against Men Act? Why not rename it the "Violence Against Humans Act". To me. this seems more egalitarian.

If feminists want economic equality, they are truly dreaming. Everyone has their own skills and education. To make everyone truly equal economically would send the world into mediocrity. Everyone would earn the same wage, regardless of the work involved. This way Bill Gates and the burger flipper at McDonald's can be roommates. Bill Gates is where he is because of the contribution he (and Microsoft) made to society. If Bill Gates never mainstreamed Windows and brought the rise of the home PC, you wouldn't even be reading this rant.'

Excellent article!

The only argument made against it so far is false. The argument being that the VAWA is appropriate since "women suffer from domestic violence" far more often than men. As another poster stated, countless psychology studies have put this myth to bed. And I would also like to point out that women have lots of places to turn when in that position, while men have nowhere to turn. Women are just as capable of battering a spouse as a man is. In fact, the most extreme cases of violence seem to be against the man. John Bobbitt, Kevin Russ, Mr. Narayan... the list goes on.

It's interesting because whenever anti-male DV takes place, up to and including the man getting murdered, feminist groups are always quick to defend the perpetrator. It seems modern day feminists are concerned with female criminals actually paying for their crimes, a ficticious wage gap, and commercials that make them feel unpretty, or other petty crap. Right... talk to me when a man murders his wife and gets only manslaughter for it. The same has happened with the genders reversed too many times to count, among countless other crimes where men end up paying a lot more severely than women (much like every other facet of society).
