Man Pays $12,000 in Support, Finds Out Child Not His

'HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Philadelphia man was forced to pay more than $12,000 in child support for another man's daughter and spent two years in jail for falling behind on payments.

Dauphin County prosecutor Edward M. Marsico Jr. told The Patriot-News of Harrisburg that he is examining the case of Walter Andre Sharpe Jr., who has been unable to recover the money even after establishing that he isn't the girl's father.

He served four six-month jail terms for not keeping up with support payments between 2001 and 2005, then lost his job. Petitions he filed for DNA testing were opposed by the court's domestic relations officials and denied by the judge.

In May 2007, the paternity order against Walter Sharpe was overturned after the girl's mother and grandmother failed to show up to a court hearing. But the judge ruled in October that Walter Sharpe was not entitled to compensation.'

the crooks, i mean courts can commit fraud,
aided by the court appointed fraud officer,
wrongly imprison a man 4 times for 2 years total
and then say he has no recourse, and is entitled to
no compensation.

EVERY child should be given a DNA test at birth,
for so many reasons. serious no brainer.

bet this gets minimal media coverage. no women being wronged.
at least this time there was an actual child.

imho -this is some serious judicial misconduct.
and gov funded agencies who won't answer questions?
said they investigated and still had it 100% - 180 degrees wrong.
sounds like misconduct by gov't officials as well. how long
will these people continue to let a corrupt judiciary
rule them? not much "Equality under the law" left anymore.

It is disgusting how this man was treated. The courts and the judge bent over backwards to try and avoid holding the snivelling female accountable. What a surprise. This man should be fully reimbursed the amount he payed her, then he should sue her for loss of earnings as a result of losing his job.

Well then I guess if this man is not entitled to compensation, he has every right to kidnap every person responsible for his wrongful imprisonment and hold them against their will for 2 years. Then he should be allowed to rob $12 000 from a bank and never have to face the music for it. At least if he was female, he could do this. That poor excuse of a woman who committed paternity fraud likely won't be held accountable. It really makes one's stomach turn to read about stuff like this.
