UK: "Feral" teenage girl sentenced to life for murder

Story here. Excerpt:
"A feral teenage girl who stabbed a man in the neck and then told friends 'just let him die' was jailed for life for murder today.
Callous April Bright, 17, knifed Mohamoud Hussan outside a pub and casually walked away as he stumbled around with blood spurting from the wound.
She then casually wiped the blood from her hands in the womens' toilet and continued partying in the bar.
Bright, now 18, was found guilty of murder at Bristol Crown Court and jailed for life yesterday with a minimum term of 12 years."

12 years exactly. This is definitely at the low end. A murder in the street like this usually get much more. But we all know about the cunt factor in criminal cases.

Honestly, if UK is anything like USA then most likely the only reason that the maximum is life at least in part due to race. I can't imagine a white girl getting it quite so harsh, the sentencing seems to go, black male, misc ethnic male, white male, then the same down the female chain with the white women being the most privelaged. At least it seems this way, I would happily admit to being wrong if there is some concrete evidence from various sources to state otherwise, but from reading headlines and admittingly heresay, this seems to be a general trend.
Bias
Michael: Your analysis of gender and racial bias in the legal system are exactly as I view them. Your "totem pole of bias" in the U.S. system is precisely the same hierarchy I've noticed. One time I even went to the court in a city near me and sat down in the arraignment room. I watched several black men get no bail at all or bail that was far to high to ever pay. The one white woman who had a bail hearing was given a continuance pending a mental health evaluation... for attacking cops! Needless to say, she was crying at her hearing. The kicker: The judge was a black man!
