Story here. Excerpt:
'A woman who helped send her former partner to prison for 10 months after lying in court has escaped with 50 hours community service.
Marion Anne Carter, 61, was sentenced in Hamilton last week after earlier pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice.
Her lies under oath helped convict Robert "Bob" Sutton of
two rapes, four assaults with a weapon and nine assaults on a number of people that saw him jailed in November 2005.'

You know
There was a suggestion in Britain to remove all women from prisons, I think it's a good idea since they aren't used to punish women who have done wrong anyway.
Wow, talk about equality at work huh?
He suffers on bail awaiting trial (probably AT LEAST a year of that if New Zealand is anything like Canada), gets convicted, rots in general population (where rapists don't usually enjoy much prison status so I prey to God he wasn't actually raped or brutalized in prison) for 10 months, and she gets 50 hours of community service for orchestrating the lie.
I Wonder what he was sentenced to originally that he ended up serving 10 months of before the lie was exposed. She deserves his original sentence in the very cell that he rotted in with NO PROTECTION from the guards in that prison at all. That would be fair.
She is a truly evil and vile human being to be capable of such horrible torment. The only problem is now she knows full well that even when she gets caught she gets away free from punishment and I fear that will only make her more dangerous.
manonthestreet There are so

There are so many stories like this. Let's not just complain lets get furious. It is difficult to strike back but for all of us there must come occasions when we can strike back. May be our blows will not be well directed but we all have occasions when we could help a woman. I say to hell with that. If they fall in the river then let them sink or swim.
Yet Another One?
Yet another example of why false rape accusations should be made a major felony.
