Stem cells from testicles an option to embryos

Story here. Excerpt:

'WASHINGTON — Cells taken from men's testicles seem as versatile as the stem cells derived from embryos, researchers reported Wednesday in what may be yet another new approach in a burgeoning scientific field.

The new type of stem cells could be useful for growing personalized replacement tissues, according to a study in Thursday's issue of the journal Nature. But because of their source, their highest promise would apply to only half the world's population: men.'

Well, in my opinion using sperm cell derived stem cells is more preferable than using those from embryos. They're more convenient to obtain than from other areas of the body too.

So, embryos have them, sperm cells have them, but egg cells do not? That seems to be the gist of what the article concludes with regard to the origins of stem cells. Funny that such a powerful factor in the creation of life would be a contribution from the gender deemed pretty much useless in the creation of life now isn't it?

Oh well, all of the great things this research will bring will be shut down unless they can find out how to use it to benefit women. I mean, mean being the only ones getting cured of certain life threatening diseases and injuries, feminists will go insane to put a stop to it.

Also, if embryos have them, sperm cells have them, but egg cells do not, could that not imply that the origins of stem cells may in fact be from males? This could certainly lead to some interesting research and may even prove once and for all that males are a requirement rather then an option in human reproduction. I know I have never believed men were only granted the optional pieces of the reproductive equation.

They may just not know how to extract them from eggs yet. But given time, science will find a way to create stem cells from some cell in the female body. For that reason we should be moving forward with the research so they're ahead of the game for both genders.

I bet the wives of any man afflicted with diseases such as Parkinson's would disagree that such advances in the meantime would 'only benefit men'.

So much for his crackpot theory about a male-less world. It turns out this would be a world in which stem cells are hard to obtain. It just goes to show that men are absolutely necessary for the world to function. I bet ova can be made from stem cells too. If they could figure that out, along with the artificial womb, women could find out how it feels to be treated like a reproductive option for a change.

You being male, you possess all the genetic information required to produce all aspect of the female anatomy as well. You have an X chromosome, you just don't use it the same way a female does. You got it from your mother though, who may have gotten it from either of her parents.

The thing is, all humans are made up of two parts originally - one egg and one sperm. If the sperm contain the information needed to create stem cells or, are themselves a type of stem cell where as the egg does not contain that information, that would mean that the origins of stem cells are genetically carried by males and passed along to all human beings biologically by males.

If stem cells are biologically transferred through males reproductive cells to all living humans wouldn't you say that's a bigger contribution to existence then the Y chromosome determining gender?

Would be kind of a fitting discovery though don't you think? I mean if the genetic ability of a cell to adapt to perform any function the body requires is an ability granted to all human embryos by their fathers, it would kind of explain the male ability to adapt to any function society requires and why we see allot more variances in physical ability, intelligence, size etc. in males then in females. Males have adapted to perform all roles existence has ever created. It seems almost fitting if it's discovered that it is the males genetic information that is the very root of biological adaptability.

Come to think of it, in almost all cases people get their mitocondria from their mom. It would make sense that the father would contribute the ability for cells to become whatever's needed. Each parent gives a miraculous requirement for a human life. I love it! It's like a symbol of men and women working together, instead of against each other, as is conception altogether.

.... in a positive manner more often and if the act of creating life which, no matter what the people who claim male participation is redundant may think, doe in fact require BOTH parents contributions equally to be successful.

Perhaps discoveries like this one may lead to men getting a little more positive PR in that department... or at least I hope so.
