I wonder if they're still banning Straus and Dutton from these conferences for uttering the heretical notion (now supported broadly by unbiased research) that women are responsible for the majority of domestic violence AND child abuse? Oh, wait, facts hurt feminists' precious little ears. I forgot. I'm going to start calling the participants in these DV/man-hate sessions "flat-earthers" since no amount of evidence will ever change their point of view.

A few gems:

"Batterers are insecure cowards and bullies," she added. "The way to hurt (their ex-wives) and not have to pay child support is to get the children.""

(Note the presumption that women are automatically entitled to both custody and support).

and

"No other profession, she added, sees such a constant reminder of men's inhumanity to women."

(I'll bet it actually looks that way when you refuse to even acknowledge male victims of domestic violence).

Here, let's do some editing and see if it's still going to be OK with the Edmonton Sun's editors.

Knowing as we do that it's women who instigate approximately 60% of all domestic violence and 71% of non-reciprocal violence, that first quote should read:

and

Given that male suicide spikes after divorce, that women receive custody and support at a much higher rate than men, and that there is clear evidence that women make false accusations of sexual and domestic violence to achieve their goals in court, that second quote should read:

"No other profession, she added, sees such a constant reminder of women's inhumanity to men."

There. Fixed that for them.

Smith also said domestic abusers who fight for custody in U.S. courts win full custody, joint custody or unsupervised access 70% of the time, regardless of the evidence of the mother

Absolutely right... at least when they ARE the mother.

As our leaders, you guys are now in the abusers database - even if like most of the guys here, you wouldn't go near a woman with a hundred-foot pole!

if there were more real women where we live the feminists wouldn't have needed

to get their half-man minions to pass laws like i.m.b.r.a. to try to

keep American men from going to other countries seeking wives and girlfriends.

I see no signs they'll publish my email. It appears the Edmonton Sun is in bed with the Stalinist, gender feminist agenda. So much for objectivity and fairness of journalism. They should at least change their name to The Edmonton Pravda, but then people would know from the title they're getting propaganda instead of news.

I admit my note wasn't that professional either, but it was much more professional than their bullshit article. It reads:

Hi. I just recently read your article entitled "When Dad is Just Bad" and I would like to congratulate you on being made a tool of feminist indoctrination. You see, people like me who actually know the facts regarding domestic violence don't buy this anti-male bullshit which you try to pass off as the truth. Your article was dripping with hatred, and lacking in facts. It implied that every father in a custody battle is abusive and is simply trying to gain custody to get back at the mother. Obviously, some fathers are abusive, but not every accusation of this nature made against a man is true. A man who's been falsely accused has every right to try to gain custody.However, you have illustrated this type of action to be criminal and abusive.

So, then what do you call a mother trying to gain custody? Is that abuse? Is that wrong? Why is it that so many people believe that simply having a vagina should be the indicator for who should get custody of the kids? Why is it that all it takes to ruin a man's life is the utterance of a single lie by a female? Why is it after such a lie is uttered, no one ever believes it is a lie? Of course some naive individuals such as Rita Smith would refuse to believe that women are capable of doing vindictive things such as lying about abuse just to spite her ex-lover, but history has proven that such things are not only possible but do happen. After all, women commit crimes too. Women abuse their children too. Women abuse their spouses too. In fact, more than half the time, women initiate IPV. Also, it's a well known fact that forty percent of murder victims were killed by their own mother. I think it's time that we as a society, collectively pulled our heads out of our asses and realized that women are just as capable of evil as men.

And by the way the comment:

Why not do an article about how women constantly abuse the justice system by putting men through no-fault divorces to gain undeserved and unearned allimony, lie about abuse to gain full custody, and lie about rape, then end off with how it's a reminder of women's inhumanity to men? Of course you'll never do that. Heaven forbid you offend the female gender like you've just offended me and countless other men's rights activists. You've made me ashamed to be Edmontonian. If I had a paper copy of this article I would keep it right next to my toilet, for obvious reasons. Next time you publish an article of this nature, please get your facts straight and try not to paint the male gender up to be nothing more than abusers and rapists.
