Obama chooses Biden, VAWA champion, as running mate

This pretty much does it; any chance he had before is now dashed. McCain is going to win in November. I think now as MRAs the thing to do is think about how we can affect positively the incoming GOP administration on men's issues. As we know, Republicans can be just as bad as Democrats in their own way with nymphotropism, one aspect of it being called (by me anyway), "poor dearism". So finding ways to dispel that particular delusion to clear the way for more man- and father-friendly attitudes from the gov't ought to, IMO, be a focus for those of us with a thing for political action.

They have given Obama the worst vice-president possible. Obama now has no chances to win.

This seals the deal for me. I cannot vote for either an Obama-Biden ticket or a McCain-Romney ticket.

Although at least Obama and Biden appear to know how many houses they own, while McCain apparently does not.

The spin on Biden is that he brings a seasoned 35-year career with lots of foreign policy experience to the Dems team; but that seems to completely contradict Obama's "change" message. There is no one more inside the Washington game than Joe Biden.

Nothing I have read yet explores Biden's strident anti-male feminism, i.e. his totally misandrist Father of VAWA rap sheet. He has never seen a feminist bill that he would not immediately endorse.

The media is trying to spin him as a working class average Joe who rides Amtrak to work every day. He does in fact ride the train, from his mansion in Delaware to his deluxe office suite in D.C.

I thought Hillary if elected would be a disaster for men.

I now realize that Obama-Biden is the feminist's perfect dream team. The ideal trojan manginas to carry forward with the feminist agenda. And because they are male, they will encounter less resistance than would a female President. Kim Gandy's wet dream has come true.

Obama thought he needed to win over the alienated Hillary camp, so Joe "Father of VAWA" Biden seemed like a solution.

But his campaign strategists seem to be completely blind to the white male voting block that is going to hold their noses and vote for Grandad McCain because two perceived liberals on the Dem's ticket will be slaughtered by negative ads as the campaign heats up.

It just occurred to me that frequently men don't have anybody to vote for, only people to vote against. The Obama-Biden ticket is so bad in my eyes I will certainly vote for McCain just to defeat them. If someone else had a more realistic chance of beating Obama, I'd vote for them instead. If McCain turned out to be Satan, I'd still vote for McCain -- as long as he was leading the polls against Obama.

Roy, certainly you already knew that men are almost always better at serving women's interests than women themselves are (not to mention how horrible women are at serving men's interests). All women have to do is whine and complain, and there are plenty of guys who will jump up to try and rescue them. The impulse to play the hero runs deep, and women have no compunction about not exploiting this.

Obama already lost any chance of getting my vote with his anti-male/father Father's Day screed, which showed his cluelessness on issues which matter, but choosing Biden really seals the deal. My natural inclination is to vote independent/third-party, but with Colorado being a hotly contested swing state I may have to hold my nose and vote against Obama/Biden by pulling the lever for McCain; at least he pretty much promises at this point to be a one-termer. And I don't think it matters one way or the other so far as the war(s) go - we'll be in the mid-East and west Asia for a long time either way.

The one thing which hasn't been pointed out yet I don't think is how Obama's choice here is sorta an endorsement for McCain in a way, because Biden is about as close to being a Democratic version of McCain as is possible. I'm thinking of the old-white-guy-who's-been-in-Washington-about-forever (but otherwise hasn't done much) angle.
