Chivalry, sexism, ignorance, or something else?

I heard this statement today on Fox TV News. Here's the story and the statement.

Missing Florida Toddler's Mom May Be Released From Jail

"I feel that there is some humanity in that woman that would not allow her to kill that cute little girl," Leonard Padilla said. "I've just got to believe that."

# In your opinion, does this kind of perception stem from chivalry, sexism, ignorance, or something else?

# IYO, why would anyone who knows the facts believe a woman would not kill her cute little girl?

# IYO, when's the last time you heard someone say that there is some humanity in a man accused of being invovled in a case involving a missing child?

# IYO, is the media overlooking the hard facts, easily available from HHS, that more children are killed by neglect and abuse in a year, than all the female victims of Intimate Partner Homicide, and that those child victims are in the age range 1 to 8-years-old, and that most of those kids are killed by their mothers?

I don't think these thoughts spring from a very noble place. It is a sort of blind allegiance to the purity and goodness of women. If the belief is that women can do no wrong then it follows that women do no wrong. There is also an element of men trying to ingratiate themselves with women by this sort of comment. It is a sort of sucking up to femaleness. This takes at least two forms. Always doing down men and always elevating women.

This guy is probably a mangina and a publicity gadfly.

He is risking $500,000 to spring her from the slammer. He said he will not be letting her out of his sight.
Of course that could lead to a false rape accusation and he will then be in the slammer himself until he proves himself innocent. Who will post his bail if that happens?

This dweeb trusts women too much and it will be his downfall.

Stay tuned folks for the next episode in this sticky little soap opera drama.

Who said that bounty hunters were dumb? I bet they are doing this just for the free press, or perhaps they are as dumb as they sound! Padilla seems to want to talk to the press, seeking almost some kind of legitamcy for his chosen profession, which is becoming ever more popular as our laws become more draconion. I don't think they care not a whit about the little girl, or the mother, I think this is an attempt at free press, and advertisement for padilla and his chosen profession. In my opinion.
