Mary Winkler: "My ugly came out"

Story here.

Mary Winkler testifies, "my ugly came out". Apparently after years of marital strife she just had had enough and murdered her husband. She never though to get counseling maybe, or just do what millions of other women do: just leave the guy? Perhaps she murdered him knowing that somehow she would do better financially after she did a couple years but wrote a best-selling book about it. Excerpt:

'Investigators have said she admitted shooting her husband on March 22, 2006, and that it had something to do with his constant criticism. On the tape, she says the couple's domestic problems had reached a boiling point after many years of conflict.
...
Winkler told Alabama Bureau of Investigation agent Stan Stabler on the tape that her husband had threatened her physically. "He said something that really scared me. I don't know, something life-threatening," she said, without elaborating further.

...
"Just say, 'The lady was a moron, evil woman,' and let's go on with it. That's fine. ... That's my point of view."
...
But Farese said Mary Winkler handled the family finances only because she did everything her husband told her. He said she was abused verbally, emotionally and physically.

If what she says is an excuse for murder, then I suppose I could have killed both my parents when I was growing up. All her complaints, the tensions, the control issues, all those things happen between kids and their parents. If this is a reason for murder, then indeed, no one is safe.

If she is found not guilty, all I can say is, it is truly and undoubtedly the case that any man living with a woman is at her mercy; she may murder him with impunity and get famous for it as a reward. Good God, I don't know why men get married. I really, really don't.

And all the millions of men who are repeatedly critized by their wives can shoot their wives now since that now makes it ok.

Children can murder their parents, esp. their fathers. Women can murder their husbands. Men however have a duty to happily embrace verbal, psychological, emotional, and physical abuse. Any objection is grounds for their murder. Or hadn't you heard?

.... I mean she can't even remember what he said. She must have been so terrified and so certain that he meant it that she didn't even bother to remember what it was she was supposed to be afraid of him doing to her.

More likely, she didn't take him seriously at all and SHE was the controlling, threatening, menacing, one. After all, she's not the one that got shot and killed by him now was she?

I have a feeling her "ugly" was always out and he was the one who had reason to be cautious and fearful. Maybe he kept a close eye on her for his own protection because he sensed that she might one day "snap" on him. He just didn't pay close enough attention to actually see it coming.

This was recently posted on CNN.com.

SELMER, Tennessee (CNN) -- The day before a Tennessee preacher was shot to death, a banker tried to reach his wife several times about an account in her name that was nearly $5,000 overdrawn, a corporate fraud investigator testified Saturday.

When Mary Winkler finally returned the calls to Regions Bank late in the afternoon on March 21, 2006, banker Mary Guest told her she was unable to deposit checks from another bank because there weren't enough funds to cover them.
"I told her what she was doing was called kiting checks," Guest testified she told Winkler.

Guest testified she told Winkler the practice could result in criminal charges, and reminded Winkler that she and her husband had an appointment at the bank the following morning to discuss the problem.

"I didn't seem to detect any distress," Guest said.

So, it wasn't until after her fraud was going to be exposed that her husband became "abusive" and needed to die.

It is interesting and revealing to read the input of the rad-fem apologists. Here is a typical example:

I'm not trying to sell anything to (or "from") you.

I'm interested in discussing a killing that took place in a patriarchal culture.

One of the marks of a patriarchal culture is the defensiveness of the women in it.(say what?! This poster must be a graduate of the Andrea Dworkin College of Rad Fem Anthropology majoring in disinformation! emphasis mine!)

E.g., in groups that require the mutilation of little girls, it is often women who do it. They've internalized the patriarchs' fetishes.

That's what I think the howling is about. Some women in the culture can't stand to see what it reveals about them.

And so on and on the misandry is spread!
