Dem House reps demand mandatory extra sick days for women on their periods

Article here. Excerpt:

'Democratic lawmakers are calling for mandatory extra sick days for women when they are on their periods, saying it is “economic violence” when women aren’t provided accommodation for their menstrual cycle.

During a press conference held as part of Women’s Health Month, Democratic lawmakers Yassamin Ansari, Adelita Grijalva, and Rashida Tlaib highlighted Ansari’s legislative effort introduced earlier this year for a proposal that “finally recognizes women’s pain.”

Ansari detailed an incident in the summer of 2015 where she “woke up on the floor” of a bodega, drenched in sweat, being dragged into an ambulance, as two male paramedics checked on her and asked if she was pregnant. She explained the incident was one of many where she suffered serious period pain, and she detailed how she would continue working despite symptoms.'

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "In the United States, males account for approximately 91.9% of occupational injury fatalities, while females account for about 8.1%. This indicates a significant disparity in occupational fatalities between men and women."

Maybe we should be showing consideration about that if we truly care about our work force.

#. What was the reason for mentioning the sex of the Paramedics?

They're Paramedics.

#. Why was the word "dragged" used?

Typically, Paramedics lift an injured person onto a gurney and wheel it to an ambulance, then carefully lift it into the ambulance.

#. Why shouldn't the Paramedics ask if a woman is pregnant if she's possibly bleeding from her vagina, and/or exhibiting distress in stomach/sexual organ area?

Medical personal diagnose then treat according to: symptoms, conditions, ailments, etc. It's called "caring for the patient."

#. Why is the term "economic violence" used?

The fact is it is that men are 91.9% of occupational injury fatalities. Death is the ultimate indicator of the male sex's victimization by "economic violence," while trying to earn a living wage for themselves and their families, IMHO.

The bias, prejudice and hypocrisy in this article stinks to high heaven, IMHO. This "news article" is less about news and more about propaganda, IMHO.
