'Toxic masculinity' fear, media portrayal as 'fools' contributing to men leaving workforce: Mikhaila Peterson
Article here. Excerpt:
'Host of the "The Mikhaila Peterson Podcast" and daughter of Jordan Peterson, Mikhaila Peterson, joined "Fox & Friends Weekend" on Saturday morning to share the factors contributing to the decline in men participating in the workforce. Peterson stressed that the media's portrayal of men, and the relationship between men and women play a role in the decline.
According to a Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report, over 7 million men, ages 25 to 54, have left the workforce in 2022.
"I think there's a number of reasons," she said. "I think the increase in mental illness plays a role. So 50% of people will be diagnosed with a mental illness at some point in their lifetime, and that's going to contribute to men dropping out of the workforce."'

Interesting take
I rather think it's due to most such men lacking the skills needed in today's marketplace. The problem is that no one cares about this situation. Contrast it to all the STEM teaching programs aimed at women only.
May be a generational
I don't agree or disagree with much of what MP says, but we are seeing the leading edge of the generaations of boys educated in an increasingly feminised education system, now dominated by feminist theory presented as fact.
With so few male role models and no acknowledgement of positive male characteristics, boys are becoming unmotivated, rudderless and detached from the traditional male gender roles in society. The will to succeed, to excel and achieve are still there, but they are detached from the traditional male gender model that provides/protects women. Simply put, men and boys are participating less in the workforce, because they have less need to do so.
MP's focus on the "pill" is just another gynocentric interpretation of male behaviour. The behaviour of men and boys is no longer focused on women and family, and is now more focused on men as individuals.
