"6 Reasons Men Can Literally Never Be Victims Of Sexism"

Article here. Excerpt:

'One of the most frustrating things a man can do is claim that he’s a victim of sexism. Men’s rights groups who espouse the systemized oppression of men are ridiculously wrong in their philosophies. Sure, men might experience discrimination, bullying or even disparagement of their gender, but this doesn’t equate to sexism. Sexism is institutionalized. Having someone be biased towards you in an isolated context, for instance, a woman excluding a man from something based on his gender, is simply mean or discriminatory, because it’s an individual act, rather than one that’s historically ingrained in the way society operates to the detriment of men. It’s the exact same “nope, not even close to the same thing” comparison that happens when white people assert that they’ve been victims of racism: That is literally not possible, because you are in the privileged majority. If you think that isolated instances of feeling slighted or discriminated against amount to having the entire balance of favor in society stacked against you, then you’re self-involved, ignorant, or at best, misguided about what words like “sexism” and “racism” actually mean. The fact is, if you’re a white, straight, middle-class man, then society operates in your favor, regardless of any instances of discrimination. You always win. Congratulations, you are the lord of the genetic lottery, so give chance a giant hug for making your life so easy.'

guys.
how long has this site been here?
i know it has to be close to 20 years. perhaps it's more. i simply don't know.
i know Thundercloud was here before i ever showed up. his comments go waaaaaay back. as do Ray's, and some others here. some of you have been here for a very long time.
tell me... in all this time that this site has been here, all the articles, reports and news that's passed through here, and all the bull shit you've seen happen concerning men's issues, rights and concerns... what has changed for the better for men?
i'll tell you. ...absolutely NOTHING!!!!

...if anything it has simply gotten worse.

and no matter how much reason or logic or talk you've thrown at it, it hasn't made even one small DENT!

the problem just keeps getting bigger and BIGGER and BIGGER!!

so what does that tell you, lads?
you can pitch and moan about the situation all you like. you can complain and pontificate and reason and talk all you like.
and for at least 20 years, that is what you have done, here.
that is what WE have done here.
and still nothing changes for the better.
what does that tell you?
it tells you that the time for TALK is over.

...time for action, loves.
do you hear me?
TIME FOR ACTION!

I've been posting here since 2001 and recall the site was founded by Scott Garman in 2000. And yes, it's frustrating how the culture continues to steamroller over men's issues without regard after all this time.

I hear you, sister. It's hard to see things go the way they are. But there is a lot more activism going on than perhaps you are aware of. And there is a lot more sympathy for the MRM than the news is likely to report.

Things will undoubtedly have to get worse before they get better. More adherents to the MRM cause have to be created by injustice (and spreading the word) before the MRM becomes a real force to be reckoned with socially and politically. But the winds, they are startin' to blow.

To quote John Belushi from "Animal House": "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!" :)

Sanity may not be restored in our lifetimes, but like all nutty extremist movements, feminism can't go on forever. Its flag-bearers are already looking more like pall-bearers and its tenets increasingly more discredited by the day. We just gotta keep on keepin' on.

Oh!
Then you were here when I was.
I was here, briefly, under another username. I don't recall what it was, and didn't recognise it when I tried to search the site, however.
Anyways, I was just 12 years old, then. (O_O)
I remember being particularly interested in Thundercloud's and Ray's posts.
Then I was somewhat indoctrinated by feminism, and I didn't return here, for a long time.
Then I actually MET Thundercloud when I was participating in feminist protests. He was one of the few MRAs I had met that seemed "reasonable", and he and I actually got together and dated. He introduced me to people like Christina H. Sommers and Camille Paglia (their literature, not in person) and that began my deprogramming from feminism.
Unfortunately, shortly after Thundercloud and I became more than just boyfriend & girlfriend, he past away, from complications from a severe motorbike accident he had been in a few years prior.
It's odd, because I had 1st met him online, when I was a child, then quite by accident (kidzmet?)ran into him while I was at University.
It is, indeed, a small world, isn't it?
I never did know what became of Ray, however.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I remember Thundercloud quite fondly from the forum here. He had quite a sense of humor too, and at one point when I wondered what "The Patriarchy" of feminist lore must be like he wrote "I hear you can stay up late and drink root beer" when you join The Patriarchy. Sounds like a rather lame Patriarchy, but I got the idea of a bunch of old men with long white beards wearing white robes/funny hats meeting to drink root beer and discuss privileging men by oppressing women. And when he disappeared for a few years some wondered what happened to him. He came back briefly to mention his accident and we thought he'd get better, but sadly he didn't. Anyway, it's quite a fortunate coincidence that you got to know him.
