Megyn Kelly freaks out over NY affirmative consent law: What about men’s rights?

'The implementation of an affirmative consent law in New York state had Fox News host Megyn Kelly concerned on Tuesday, as she fretted that men are presumed guilty too often in college sexual assault cases.

“It is important to improve the rights of women who are victims of sexual assault on college campuses,” she told colleague Brit Hume. “But we are going in a direction where we almost entirely eliminate the rights of men. And there’s a presumption now in these campuses, thanks to the Obama administration, of guilt. There’s a presumption of non-consent. And if you are a young man who gets accused, it’s your burden to go in there and prove consent, and we’re getting to the point where you have to have a contract. And if you don’t, you’re gonna be presumed a rapist.”

For his part, Hume argued that advocates for affirmative consent “have never had any sex,” and described laws like the one in New York part of the “re-regulation of sex,” a change from the social mores during his own college days, when universities had strict rules regarding mingling between men and women.

The sexual revolution, Hume argued, was the precursor to what he called today’s “hook-up culture.”

“It was the culmination of the de-regulation of sex,” Hume responded. “Now what we’re seeing is, because people particularly don’t like some of the results of that, they’re trying to re-regulate it, and that’s where we are.”'

If he were right, colleges would be reverting to single-sex, etc. But they are not. The drive for all this silliness is not coming from social conservatives but from "progressive" feminists, who seek to eliminate men from college campuses. It really is that simple.

I think Hume's basically right that it's an effort to re-regulate sex after the sexual revolution--but it's mostly a way to regulate men and male sexuality. Because female sexuality is good and male sexuality is bad.

But I also think Matt is right that feminists want to eliminate men from campus--so they can one great big pity party about how hard it is to be a woman.

And they'll fight tooth-and-nail against single-sex colleges for men because they hate the thought of a man h@ving a good time without a woman there to spoil it for him.

just lie about your name. if you get caught just tell her some other lie. most guys lie about everything else anyway. very few sanitation workers in a bar. mostly lawyers, engineers and doctors. what's the diff. its not like women are playing by some sort of honor bound rules. the only rules that really exist MUST be for women and about women. men don't really matter, so why play fair w/ them? heck, I once told a girl I didn't speak English. what a wild weekend. don't play their stupid games. get out of that box.

just read an art. about the beauty queen from argentina. you may remember when she got caught (pix) flying a jumbo jet sitting/laughing in the pilot's laps. well, updated story is that the 2 pilots got fired and all 3 are on the verge of criminal charges. now she is filing sexual harassment charges against the pilots.

wanna bet she walks away free and richer for her terrible ordeal?
