Men as minorities

I was thinking, a bit ago. (Yes, I know, "look out!!!" right?) but I was rather wondering, since women outnumber men, in this world, have any of you chaps ever considered going for minority status?

Yes, yes, yes, I know. "Erika, you silly girl, what are you on about?"

If just on principal, alone, think about it.

"Minorities" are usually, realistically or unrealistically considered "disadvantaged" in life, compared to the majority. This covers a range of things:

1. Unequal representation in the media. (check)
2. Unequal health care. (check)
3. Issues and concerns ignored. (check)
4. Higher rates of incarceration in proportion to the majority. (check)
5. Ignored and even persecuted by the government, at times. (check)
6. Shorter life expectancy. (check)
7. Disadvantaged in education. (check)
8. Unfair/unjust laws targeted at them, and not members of the majority. (i.e. "manspreading") (check)
9. Persecution by the majority. (check)
10. Defined as lesser people than the majority (expendable) (check)
11. Smaller number to the majority population. (hence "minority")(check)
12. Higher rates of suicide, drugs and alcohol. (check)
13. Used for manual labor that the majority avoids. (check)
14. Prone to more violence than the majority due to social status. (check)

Anyway, I'm sure there's more, but, that's all I could come up with on short notice. But nonetheless, there you have it. At least 14 things that qualify a particular group for minority status , along with the special considerations and protections that come with it.

Consider it, hmm?

Hit the bulls-eye, Erika. Now try getting both the majority *and* the minority to acknowledge the minority as minorities... that's the biggest challenge the MRM currently faces.

thank you, matt!
but, honestly, by the very definition of "minority"...
men truly are a minority. and there is no getting around that.

mi·nor·i·ty
məˈnôrədē/
noun
noun: minority; plural noun: minorities
1.
the smaller number or part, especially a number that is less than half the whole number.
"harsher measures for the minority of really serious offenders"
the number of votes cast for or by the smaller party in a legislative assembly.
"a blocking minority of 23 votes"
a smaller group of people, especially one commonly discriminated against in a community, society, or nation, differing from others in race, religion, language, GENDER or political persuasion.
"representatives of ethnic minorities".
(i highlighted the one that applies to men, the most)

and, at least in the west men in general suffer what any other so-called minorities have. (as i illustrated, in the original article)
of course, i posted this idea in a number of feminist chats and websites, because i have a jolly good time aggravating them, and as expected, i was torn a new one, in every instance! even got banned from a couple of them! (part of the fun, really! ^_^ )
