"College Presidents Appear To Be Delusional About Sexual Assault On Their Campuses"
Article here. Excerpt:
'About a third of U.S. college presidents believe sexual assault is a problem on American college campuses, but only 6 percent believe it’s a problem on their own campuses. That’s according to Inside Higher Ed’s fifth annual Survey of College and University Presidents, which was released Friday. The survey covered a range of topics, including the Obama administration’s college ratings proposal and the sustainability of college financial models, but the most significant (and alarming) finding was about the presidents’ thoughts on the prevalence of sexual assault on campus.
College presidents appear to be out of touch.
The U.S. Department of Education in May released a list of 55 institutions with open investigations into Title IX sexual violence violations. Since then, that list has been periodically updated; as of January, it named 94 schools, including large public institutions such as Arizona State University and small liberal arts colleges like Sarah Lawrence. Some lawmakers have made campus sexual assault a priority, most notably with California’s recently passed affirmative consent standard and with the pending federal Campus Accountability and Safety Act.'

The title
When I first saw the title, I thought it was about how college presidents are delusional with rape hysteria. It's the opposite. The article is about "NIMBY" college admins who are a bit more like "INIMBY": "It's Not In My Back Yard". Well, like one of the commenters said, maybe the problem is that the statisticians are wrong and have the admins thinking incorrect things but based on the incorrect things, the logical conclusion, were those things right, is not being seen.
Clear as mother's milk.
And silly. Silly, silly. Whole thing's silly. I'd laugh if it wasn't poisoning campus life and whacking falsely-accused young men's prospects in life as well as wrecking a lot of collegiate womens' chances of getting any action from their classmates -- with a Damocles' Sword dangling overhead, just how many young men are taking themselves out of the running in the name of self-preservation? Dunno. But if college life had been like this when I was going... I'd've probably stuck entirely with beer and video games instead of going out to parties and/or seeking out possible gfs.
