Jennifer Garner raising daughters to "kick a guy's ass", ask for more than what men do, among other things
Article here. Excerpt:
[Jennifer] Garner [link added] noted about her hopes for her two daughters, “I want my girls to love math. I want them to think that being a scientist is the coolest possible job on the planet. I want them to not be afraid to lean toward their femininity; to love carrying a baby doll around; to know how to bake. And to be able to kick a guy’s ass — that’s why they’ve been in karate since they were little!”
[Ben] Affleck [link added] added:
"Well, [they’re] a little young for a sort of Gloria Steinem doctoral thesis, but without getting into exactly what it means politically to be a feminist, our daughters understand what my wife understands full well, which is it’s important to be strong, present, and powerful, and accept nothing less than a man would — in fact, ask for more. And, you know, that’s part of what I admire so much about my wife, and I know that through her example, my children will absorb that."'

Imagine if Affleck had said about his sons the following...
"I want my sons to love baking. I want them to think that being a baker is the coolest possible job on the planet. I want them to not be afraid to lean toward their masculinity; to love carrying a football around; to know how to throw it. And to be able to whack a girl around some when necessary — that’s why they’ve been in karate since they were little!”
Just imagine the reaction that would get.
Now imagine if Garner commented as follows:
"Well, [they’re] a little young for a sort of MGTOW doctoral thesis, but without getting into exactly what it means politically to be some kind of masculist, our sons understand what my husband understands full well, which is it’s important to be strong, present, and powerful, and accept nothing less than a woman would — in fact, ask for more. And, you know, that’s part of what I admire so much about my husband, and I know that through his example, my children will absorb that."
Just imagine what ppl would say to that. I imagine they'd go from A List (or whichever one they're on) to Z List super-fast.
Actually, I feel pretty bad for the girls. If Garner really does plan to throw all that stuff at them and Affleck plans to just sort of cheer-lead it, between the mixed signals and Hollywood Type A personality pace of their parents, those poor girls'll need a shrink by the time they're 8. Oy.
But Affleck's characterization of his wife's "acceptance threshold" would, if accurate, describe her or anyone as a classic feminist: equality isn't the goal, superiority is. Remember the motto of SBA and ECS' paper "The Revolution": "The True Republic–Men, their rights and nothing more; Women, their rights and nothing less." Sounds like the dream is still very much alive. After all, if one person has nothing more than a set of rights and another those same tights plus further privileges of consideration, whose interests win out whenever there's a conflict of them? Raising girls to ask (more like demand) more than what men have is raising them in that model. (Talk about raising spoiled, entitled kids! Just what Hollywood needs more of.)
SBA and ECS' ultimate aim was female supremacy, not "equality". They knew it'd be some time off, after they died, but it'd eventually, they hoped, arrive. Today's feminists (such as Garner and Affleck) are doing all they can to make that happen. (Either that, or ensure a steady income for a Hollywood shrink or two. Guess we'll have to see.)
