Politically correct Google image for Veterans' Day says it all
Google just switched its page banner for today (Nov. 11), since here in the US, it's Veteran's Day. Undoubtedly, people outside the US will see something different, which is why I capped the image so it can be viewed here.
Remember always to be thankful to the millions of American women who were killed or died of wounds/illness in combat zones.
Yep.
My pass-the-barf-bucket response to the all-mighty G's choice of search page banner art isn't aimed at them in particular. This kind of microscope-lens-on-the-telescope-end impression conveyance is typical of people/institutions pandering to feminists, even if it's more a learned response and less a willful act. It's become a knee-jerk response, instilled during the reign of terror that the MacKinnon stormtrooper types unleashed in the '80s. It was so effective, the sufferings and deaths of millions of men are now readily, as shown so graphically by the banner image, backgrounded by the presence of a tiny fraction of female military personnel, a substantial majority of whom never stain a single article of clothing after basic training.

The 90% vs the 10%
About 90% of our world is about women--meeting their needs, making them feel good, showing them in a good light. About 10% is about something other than women. Feminists are really pissed about that 10%.
The problem with the military is that it shows men in a good light: men willing to risk their lives or sacrifice their lives for the sake others. We can't have that, now can we? So we put them in the background and put the woman up front--even though women make up only about 13% of the military. That gives us the proper perspective on the importance of women all the while denying the importance of men who served. Google knows all this, so Google follows the cultural mandate: it's all about women. And when it isn't about women, when it's about men, we make it about women. Even though women rarely make the sacrifices in combat zones that men do. Even though this logo discounts the sacrifices made by men. Because in today's world we just can't recognize the good men do.

More Propaganda
Women are out in front, leading the way, even in the military. That's what this picture says in an image, at least to me. We know it's bullshit, but it's more propaganda intended to promote the "women are wonderful" idea. Veteran's day should be about honoring men, and their sacrifices. Far and away it is men who died, were maimed, or spent months or years in dreadful circumstances even if they did survive wars. Now, because we have a few women in the military, the focus of everything focuses on women. Feminists can't even allow Veterans day to be about men. They insist that it's all about women, and it must always be all about women. Next will be Father's Day, which will have a woman teaching a father about how to be a good parent, or some such bullshit.
I hate to break it to you, redwood...
But your comment on father's day is prescient.
Read the newspapers more carefully... (or, maybe not: it will get you very angry)
On mother's day, we read about mothers: JUST MOTHERS
On father's day, we read about: women who play the role of fathers, gay fathers (in itself, nothing wrong, but a category), lesbians who are fathers, step fathers, uncles who act like fathers, grandfathers who must step in to be fathers, fathers who abuse.... but rarely JUST FATHERS
