State: Woman deceives Kansas agency to get child support from sperm donor

Article here. Excerpt:

'TOPEKA, Kan. — The state agency seeking child support payments from a Topeka man who donated sperm to a lesbian couple says one of the women “clearly deceived” the department.

The Kansas Department for Children and Families in a court filing Wednesday also called into question the validity of a sperm donor contract between William Marotta and the couple, Jennifer Schreiner and Angela Bauer.

Marotta’s attorney called the agency’s filing “offensive.” Phone calls placed to the women Thursday afternoon weren’t immediately returned.

Documents show Schreiner indicated she didn’t know the name of the donor or “have any information” about him in her application for child support.'

right here in MRA land that this would eventually come to pass. sperm donar is daddy, but just for the $$$. anybody also notice that nobody is mentioning the 'other' mother for any c.s.? just men, as usual. donar didn't want or agree to raise the child, she did. we also predicted that no women would ever be looked at systematically for any serious c.s., as usual.

confusion reigns supreme here, but i think the judge is saying that any agreement between the parties involved that didn't go through the proper paperwork (gov.) screwup is illegal. ssdd

to me this is just another example of how screwed up law = screwed up outcome. they threw out equality and gave the mom(s) all the rights and privileges, with no monetary responsibilities as men have attached, and you get mayhem. its nothing if not expected, as stated in the real (outdated) precepts of law.

Honestly I don't see this case as being new. It's being reported as if no one's ever heard of this happening, but if you've been following this site for any amount of time, we've seen it happen a lot. The simple fact is you can't contract-away child support, the only way to do it is through an agency/donor bank.

If in fact a mother cannot contract away child support, should the attempt to do so be viewed as an act of fraud? After all, she solicits someone to help her conceive a child by deceiving him into signing a fraudulent contract that results in her receiving the child and his money. In short, it's a con game--and, as the saying goes, ignorance of the law is no excuse. Even if both parties acted in good faith, she's the one who received the benefit of an illegal contract.
