In handing down the stiff sentence, Mitchell told Escalona that in spite of the ‘heartbreaking’ and ‘compelling’ evidence presented on both sides, “to me, it comes down to a single, salient fact: you savagely beat your child to the edge of death… for this you must be punished.”

Pleading for leniency Escalona took to the stand Thursday where she admitted that she’d behaved “like a monster” but also said she deserved to be given “a second chance.”'

In a country where violent women get housing, child-care, and a multitude of other benefits, we'll see how long this 'stiff sentence' holds up My guess is not long. I still predict that by hook or by crook she'll be out in a few years, assuming she stays in jail at all.

Is she the next "cause celebre" of Joe Biden's domestic violence industry. It will be interesting to see if the d.v. industry rallies to her aid as they so often have in other cases, claiming she was a victim, because she's an oppressed woman living in a Patriarchal society. The d.v. industry hypocritically talks a lot about "gender based violence," but is too corrupt, and/or stupid, to know it when they see it in cases like this.

"According to the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services and DOJ statistics, more kids are killed by neglect and abuse in a year (1,460 in 2005), than all the female intimate partner homicides in in a year (1,181 in 2005). And mothers are the single largest group of kid killers. They have a rate twice that of fathers, yet the taxpayer funded (gender feminist run) domestic violence industry would have us believe that women don't egregiously batter men too. They're lying!"

"As shown by HHS statistics, the age range for those child homicides is about ten times narrower than that for female intimate partner homicide, making that rate of child homicide far more concentrated. Yet funding to prevent those child homicides is minimal, compared to the billions that go to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)."

Vice President Biden has called the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) “his baby,” but Biden should be ashamed, not proud, of his misandric piece of gender feminist, legislation, which works to excuses and reward women’s domestic violence against men and children by women, thereby fueling more domestic violence against men and children by women.
