Is Circumcision a Viable Option to Prevent HIV Infection?

'Recent research has shown a direct link between male circumcision and reduced HIV transmission, generating growing interest in high-risk communities, especially in Africa, which has been hit hard by the HIV epidemic. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton even praised a campaign to circumcise adult male Africans as a preventative measure for HIV in her opening speech last month for the 2012 International AIDS Conference in Washington, D.C.

... is it still right to cut off an infant's foreskin before he has a chance to make his own decision in his maturity? Answer: No.

So let's say they are right though and adult male circumcision reduces the spread of HIV. I'll also bet that based on the principle that the less skin you have around your sex organs, the less likely you are to get or spread HIV, that female circumcision would help reduce the spread of HIV. But will anyone study that idea? Bet not! Funny how the focus is solely on cutting up men's genitalia but to do the same to women is not even on the radar.
