UK: Soccer player convicted of rape because sex partner was intoxicated

Article here. This is a travesty. The woman, not girl, was 19. Legally an adult, entitled to drink and to consent to sex. She was not a child. The judge said there had been no force involved and the complainant received no injuries. The complainant was not 'targeted' and the attack had not been 'premeditated'. Are adult women now legally designated children with no responsibility for their own behaviour? If so they should not be allowed to buy or consume alcohol and her parents should not have allowed her out late at night to consort with footballers.

"I sincerely hope that the guilty verdict will provide some closure on this horrendous ordeal..." Not nearly as horrendous an ordeal as that imposed upon this young man for her "buyer's remorse". More cases like this will occur and in future this feminist inspired misandrist legal travesty will be seen for what it is. Excerpt:

Every time I hear the concocted BS about the so called "war on women" I want to puke,because this bias trash is getting all the media attention!! This appalling travesty and the utter mindlessness and injustice in the UK soccer player story is the shocking evidence that there's a global universal "war on men". But it's has always been that way,and it seems to be getting worse. In this country for example the liberal democrats,have been pandering to women's cause's at the expense of men in an obvious attempt to win the women's vote.And in the courts it's very common for the the male to get unfairly the shaft,in all case's involving men Vs women. The media,and the courts and political correctness are not gender blind,and these double standards even reach into our own federal government.

Just because she has no memory of the event, doesn't mean that she was unconscious, or that it wasn't consentual. I feel bad for Evans. I think she conveniently "lost her memory", in all honesty. Anyway, if women want to be able to claim "buyers remorse" and use drunkenness as an excuse to absolve themselves of any responsibility for their own actions, it should be illegal for women to buy and consume alcohol. BTW, how is it that Amanda Monti, a woman who permanently disfigured a man by ripping off his testicle because he refused her sexual advances only got half the sentence this man received? Even if he was guilty, rape is not as horrendous a crime as sexual mutilation. Sorry, Brits, but your justice system is severely flawed!

I suppose you're right, Matt. I'm not in a good position to be criticizing, as Canada's system is garbage too. I just meant it matter-of-factly. Something is seriously wrong with a system when it considers disfigurement of someone's genitals to be a lesser crime than forcing someone to have sex with them.
