Gwen Moore (D-WI), testified on behalf of the Violence Against Women Act which would would renew grants to U.S. domestic violence prevention and survivor support programs, would increase availability of legal assistance to victims and would extend assistance to battered undocumented immigrants and same-sex couples.'

I listened to the entire piece that was there and she never said that DV was as 'American as apple pie'. Maybe she said it off-piece but not in the clip. This is the kind of misreporting that undermines MRA objections to VAWA.

The problem with VAWA is that it is not including men in it. That's all. The name of the Act ought to be 'The Domestic Violence Act of 2012' and re-written to include men explicitly. That is all. But to misrepresent the statements of a speaker (or failing to represent them) is not good media play.
