VAWA vote report
Submitted by Matt on Fri, 2012-02-03 03:46
Via email from an activist:
As a result of all our efforts and the attached letter signed by 25, this morning all 8 GOP senators voted 'no' on Sen. Leahy's VAWA reauthorization bill. The aura of VAWA enjoying full bipartisan support has been broken. Now, passage is of VAWA is no longer a foregone conclusion.
Needless to say, NOW is fuming right now.
Although we still have a lot of work to do, CONGRATULATIONS AND THANKS TO ALL.

8 pubs votes against it?
unbelievable.
that's like 8 times more than have ever voted against.
guess ron paul or whoever once voted against is felling pretty smart now, huh?
billion$$ down a rat hole. if they don't pass it how are all the feminist
lawyers and lonely phone sitters going to find work? no free handouts and a place
to live for claiming abuse. i hear they don't even have to prove it, just claim abuse,
like raising your voice to her or whatever she wants it to be.
anybody want to guess how many abortions get paid for out of it? not easy to prove
since nobody really know$ where it goe$.
yeah, like not passing is ever going to happen anyway.
Politics.
Republicans aren't for VAWA I would think because Biden authored it. They want to take the Oval Office, a major part of what Biden is is VAWA. Taking out his legislation weakens his position in re-election for 2012.
Of course NOW cannot ever see past their own egotism, it's always the narrow minded cry of victimization.
I suspect NOW will not last forever, with such deluded thinking.
War on women... When have women even fought in wars?
(note: I posted on that feminist website, comment is awaiting moderation, i'm betting the weakling cowards will not allow dissent, shows how fragile this matriarchy really is...)
