UK: Teenager's false rape claim leads to £80 fine despite assault it provoked against falsely-accused

'A teenage girl whose false rape allegation led to an innocent man being beaten up and another man sent to jail was let off by police with just an £80 fixed penalty notice.

Jess Cooper was handed the penalty – usually given for minor traffic infringements, anti-social behaviour or environmental offences – for wasting police time.

However, her ‘wicked’ lie led to Andrew Lester being punched and kicked to the floor. He lost eight teeth and his hearing was permanently damaged.

Yesterday a judge who jailed Cooper’s boyfriend over the attack said the police’s decision not to prosecute her ‘beggared belief’.

The judge said he was able to reduce Hollyman’s sentence because the ‘provocation is very significant’. He added that Hollyman, from Walsall, was ‘in many ways’ a victim.'

She should get 2 years in prsion for this, plus 1 year for lying and a further 1 year for provoking an assault. 4 YEARS i would put this bitch away for.

Of course the woman gets off with the equivalent of a traffic ticket, but her boyfriend goes to jail for several years. Granted the current boyfriend did over-react, but she started it all with her lie about rape. Men should stop upholding the honor of women... women these days rarely have any honor. Besides it's not worth doing time in jail, just to uphold some woman's honor. The guy who attacked the other, the current boyfriend of this woman (girl?), he's a classic white knight. Let this be a lesson to all those men who might "defend a woman's honor" - don't do it.

this girl's boyfriend is doing time for taking up for his woman's honor;

and, now he finds out she was falsely accusing another man of a horrible crime?

he is sitting in prison. costs her $120 approx.

if i were the guy who got beat up i would sue them both.
