Frenchman ordered to pay wife damages for lack of sex

'The 51-year-old man was fined under article 215 of France’s civil code, which states married couples must agree to a “shared communal life”.

A judge has now ruled that this law implies that “sexual relations must form part of a marriage”.

The rare legal decision came after the wife filed for divorce two years ago, blaming the break-up on her husband’s lack of activity in the bedroom.

A judge in Nice, southern France, then granted the divorce and ruled the husband named only as Jean-Louis B. was solely responsible for the split.'

This judge's vile decision is nothing more than spousal rape by judicial fiat. Hateful sexists like this should not be in such positions, IMO.

Who makes up these laws? Are these people from another planet? Don't these people have any sense of the reality of married life? There is no way to measure how much is enough sex. Is it twice a week? Is it once a month? This frequency of sex will of course vary from couple to couple, depending on many factors such as their age and health. This is another idiotic legal intrusion into the institution of marriage, and another good reason never to get married. Notice how the lawyers are using this French law as a way to play on the antagonism between former husbands and wives, and make money. Next they will be saying that ex-wives are due compensation for a man not doing enough housework.
