Why we should protect those accused of rape
Article here. Excerpt:
'What do David Copperfield, Michael Flatley, the Duke lacrosse team, the four Hofstra students, Rene Angelil (Celine Dion’s manager-husband), Rick Pitino, Kobe Bryant, KBR/Halliburton and Julian Assange have in common? All were accused off rape, and will, in all likelihood, be remembered for that association, regardless of what ultimately happens (Assange's case is ongoing; none of the cases have led to a conviction). It is time for a modest reform in rape jurisprudence; the accused should be granted anonymity unless and until found guilty.
Ray Donovan, Reagan’s treasury secretary, after he was acquitted of trumped-up corruption charges, famously asked: "Where do I go to get my reputation back?" Before Dominique Strauss-Kahn knocks on that door, the short answer is: Nowhere, not possible, it is a permanent stain. President of France? Forget it. Even the French cringe at a man with a damaged reputation representing their country.'

i was wondering
this maid accusing the french socialist guy, all of a sudden she wants him to pay by serving time for what he did? let's see, wonder why? it's petty much known she is highly unreliable.
1. even if found to be lying it won't cost her too much, what, filing a false police report is the typical charge. $110.95 fime?
2. the more she insists he did it the more it will likely co$t him in civil court. it's really just a free lottery ticket for women in these sort of cases. lawyers will fight over her to take it on for a % of the winnings.
3. isn't there a clause or something in v.a.w.a. where she can get fast tracked for citizenship to U.S. if she keeps 'claiming' rape? not necessary to prove, just allege. wonder if feminists put that in there to try and keep guys from importing foreign women for wives?
a man still in jail on the word of a known liar about this sort of thing and she talked about making a bundle on this in a recorded phone call? yep, just another typical day in femland.
How did we as a society turn
How did we as a society turn words into such a devastating weapon? It's really a sad state of affairs when all it takes to ruin a man's life is one simple utterance of a lie out of the mouth of a female. Not holding false accusers accountable for their actions is a huge injustice! If somebody used the media to spread lies about any company, the company could sue for defamation. Why can't one falsely accused of rape sue his accuser for the same purpose?
