Investigators: Polk deputy tied naked children to desk, beat them with paddle

Story here. Excerpt:

'A Polk County sheriff's deputy filmed herself strapping naked children to a desk and spanking them with sex toys, then sent the videos to a boyfriend she met on a fetish website, investigators said.

On Thursday, 45-year-old Robin Leigh Pagoria was charged with aggravated child abuse, production of child pornography, promotion of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

According to an arrest report, the two children, described only as girls between the ages of 10 and 18, described in graphic detail multiple spanking sessions.

Investigators say Pagoria cut the legs off one end of the desk she used for the spanking. To keep the girls from moving, she handcuffed their arms and tied their ankles to the desk, deputies said.
...
Investigators said they found evidence of two videos on Pagoria's phone. In both, deputies said the victims' genitals and buttocks were the clear "focal point."

According to the Sheriff's Office, the videos were about 10 minutes long, and showed the children suffered "substantial" wounds. They could be heard screaming in the videos, investigators said.'

I find it so shocking that I don't know what else to say. How anyone can possibly be this sick is utterly beyond me.

Another bad cop.

Cops and teachers are my two most hated professions. (sorry to the good cops and good teachers - but you've got some on your team that make you all look bad)

The article does not indicate what relationship she has with the children. I don't think they are hers, and it mentions she did not have access to them from her work work as the spankings took place at her home. I wonder why the girls didn't tell after the initial spanking and how parents could not notice. It may be another lesson of parents trusting the cop, simply because of her profession. Serves as a reminder that parents have to be diligent about protecting who has access to their children.

It also said she has resigned instead of being fired. Does this mean she can work elsewhere?

If this were a man he would be put in jail for life, and be raped continually, and probably murdered by some biker who says he's "doing gods work." Instead, because it is a woman, she'll probably spend a few years in some kind of mental health confinement.

First off I'm sure the videos were going to be put on the internet and sold as porn (yes, people buy this stuff).

Second, it doesn't matter if it is male or female, it's wrong.

To the individual who said the man would be raped or killed in prison, you are wrong. I have interviewed almost 700 men who raped women (and some men) and they are still in prison. Some were raped and some had consensual sex.

The women I have interviewed who sexually abused children are also in prison, yes some of them teachers, but also babysitters, mothers, stepmothers and women next door.

It is as diverse as the types of individuals who are abused.

How do we stop this. Parental education is one.

Here are some interesting findings:

Some of the most recent cases of school sexual abuse include the following:

In 2002, a California high school teacher ran off to Las Vegas with one of her 15-year-old students;

The same year, a Louisiana teacher was accused of having an affair with a 14-year-old student;

In the Bronx, one teacher was charged with the statutory rape of a 16-year-old former student;

In March, a 20-year-old Anderson, Ind. choir aide was charged with allegedly raping a 16-year-old female studentthe two had a consensual relationship for three months before the girl asked to break it off;

A week earlier, an Indianapolis Public Schools substitute was caught having sex with a 15-year-old student in a vacant classroom;

A Washington state teacher was convicted of 10 counts of sexually exploiting minors by persuading them to pose nude for himhe then uploaded some of the images to a Web site;

Also in Washington, state officials say 159 male coaches of girls sports have been fired or reprimanded over the last decade for sexual misconduct;

An investigation found more than 60 instances in the last four years of Texas high school and middle school coaches losing jobs as a result of allegations of sexual misconduct.

It is rampant on both sides of the aisle, how do we stop this, oversight boards, teachers not being allowed to be alone with a student. If we can force the stopping of helmet led hits in football, why can't we stop sexual abuse?

"Second, it doesn't matter if it is male or female, it's wrong."

You missed the point. To the Justice system, it's "more" wrong when a man does it.

You claim to have interviewed both male and female abusers (though you say you've spoken to men who raped women (and men), not girls and boys. Perhaps there were no pedophiles alive to interview?

"Some were raped and some had consensual sex."

And not a one has demonstrated abstinence?

"why can't we stop sexual abuse?"

For starters, slapping sexual misconduct charges with it's 1-2 year sentence on women, while men suffer statutory rape charges with 20-30 year sentences would demonstrate an unwillingness to take some examples seriously.
