Male victims get lost in domestic-abuse data

Story here. Excerpt:

'WASHINGTON — When Adele Freeman fired five .38-caliber bullets into her boyfriend in 2000, she contributed to an often-overlooked statistic within the sometimes-deadly world of partner abuse: namely, that more than one-third of all homicides each year connected to domestic violence are perpetrated by women.
...
The fact of female abusers and male victims is often lost in the discussion of domestic violence. In fact, women's advocates have used selective statistics — the same federally funded survey that found women are equally as abusive to men — to bolster their plea for funding and services.

That absence of attention to the men's side of the coin has contributed to an imbalance of services for men who are victimized in abusive relationships.'

I was pleased to see this in print. Will America ever wake up to what's been going on in the domestic violence industries? Even more of a question, "Will they ever do anything about it?"

'"I don't really want to quibble about the particular stats," she said. Instead, Cohen pointed to the "huge number" of female victims she sees in need of assistance each and every day."

And you got alot of females commingle foreword after we targeted them in campaigns. Its know that men are less likely to come foreword with their victimization and it has also been shown that men are less likely to even be aware of their victimization. DV programs that ignore men are harmful.

What gets me most about that quote is that... she works in a women's shelter that excludes men, is she really surprised she see's more women then men? is she really so stupid as to not make the connection that no men allowed may result in not seeing (m)any male victims?

It is true, "If you build it they will come, but if you exclude them they will stay away and therefore be nonexistent." The taxpayer funded, domestic violence industry has always been a hate movement - more than anything.

Suppressing* the victims is no justification, just self fulfilling
