'But I’m not going to do that. Instead I’m going to tell it like it is. And what it is is this: statistically speaking women have a huge advantage as entrepreneurs, because the press is dying to write about them, and venture capitalists are dying to fund them. Just so no one will point the accusing finger of discrimination at them.

That WSJ article also criticizes Y Combinator for having just 14 female founders out of their 208 startups to date. But I know that Y Combinator wants – really, really wants – female founders and that there just aren’t very many of them. I know this because Y Combinator cofounder Jessica Livingston has told me how excited they are to get applications from women, and that they want to do everything they can to get more female applicants. What they probably won’t admit, but I suspect is true anyway, is that the rate of acceptance for female applicants is far higher than for male applicants.

The problem isn’t that Silicon Valley is keeping women down, or not doing enough to encourage female entrepreneurs. The opposite is true. No, the problem is that not enough women want to become entrepreneurs.'

The frantic attempt to get women into technology has caused standards to be loosened very seriously. Women speakers at tech conferences are often airheads with nothing particular to say. It's gotten so bad that I discriminate against women speakers, not going to their speeches, not because I think that women have inherently less to offer, it's just that the system we have is so straining to promote them, that standards have become abysmally low.

Let people do what they are good at, and stop trying to put a square peg into a round hole. Feminism is trying to do this. It won't work. It doesn't work now.

I worked in high tech for many years but soon discovered many women were there for reasons other than their technical expertise. I just couldn't take them seriously.

Still, I had a couple of exceptions. One was a woman who founded a chip company with her husband. I would probably rate the husband as they brighter of the two, but the woman definitely knew her stuff. I came to respect her because she had obviously taken the time to learn what she was doing. And part of that respect came out of dealing with so many women who obviously didn't know their stuff.

women can't stand the truth. it has no place among them.
people are starting to understand how women use beta males to get what they want.

they get promotions handed to them because they are women,
and it never fails, they ALWAYS act like they deserve it.
i have seen the very worst engineer promoted to the very top spot,
so the contractor could bid the gov. project again.
she screwed up constantly and the company only proteced her.
we all saw it.

we all saw them handed grades in engineering school.
we saw them get free $$$ for school, because of their gender.
we saw them get hired by the best companies, trying to meet a.a. 'goals' (quotas),
and paid way above top dollar.

the testing for engineering certifications has recently started letting people
without engineering degrees take one test, and call themselves engineers, PE's.
they are doing it to try to get more minorities and women into engineering.
you only have to work for an engineering firm for a few years and then you can take the test.
think a test can't be rigged? yeah, right.
wonder who got that passed? wink wink.

logical extension:
hey, i worked at a hospital for Y years, can i take the doctor exam?
i worked at a law firm for X years, can i take the bar?

here you go darling, here's your P.E., go design those bridges/buildings/roads/etc.
all those ickish engineering classes are just foolishness anyway.

who says feminism isn't dangerous? it's deadly.

i am about to retire, so it doesn't get under my skin so bad anymore.
however, if i were an honest, real female engineer, or any professional who worked hard to get my credentials, i would be hopping mad at the ones who slide on looks, or gender handouts, or whatever they use to get their fake credentials.

this, more that any other recent long list of 'changes', shows me that the u.s. is on its way down the drain, the brain drain.

You are absolutley correct; it has spilled over into every aspect of the workplace. Women drawing pay as "firefighters" when they can't even carry a child out of a burning building, or as police officers when they lack the ability for unarmed combat that is required of male recruits...granted there are a small number of women that can do these things well; there are a lot more being paid as if they can.

They now have the same problem many ethnic minorities have: an absolute lack of credibility. It is up to them to prove their worth; men have been required to do that for centuries.

I've met some sharp women in the tech field, and some that were obvious tokens; the brightest ones are confident enough in their abilities that don't have to compensate by dressing like sluts.

In all fields, women will never be truly successful unless they are willing to do what it takes for a man to be successful in the same field. The idea that you should be paid the same as a male co-worker with a similar background, even when he works 10 to 15 hours more per week than you, is ridiculous but holds up in court to squeeze more money and token opportunities from large firms. I work with women who are qualified at what they do, but habitually come in late, take longer lunches than arranged, and leave early. They know companies are afraid to take action, so the co-workers who actually do the work treat them as part-time sloths and expect nothing from them. They are happy to oblige, producing little, and laughing all the way to the bank...Asian women coming to the US put this type of employee to shame, and are rightfully disgusted by them.

They'd often like to collect the grants/loans etc. that come with being a "Woman Owned Business", but then the reality sets in that they'll actually have to work; Running your own business isn't like working 9-5 for someone else, and this is what many of these women (and a large number of men as well) don't like about it.
