New PM of Australia has strong feminist creds

Via Jeremy S. The new PM of Australia is Julia Gillard. (Story here). She has strong feminist credentials. Her Wikipedia entry is here. Excerpt:

'Moving to Melbourne, in 1983, Gillard became the second woman to lead the Australian Union of Students. Gillard was also formerly the secretary of the left-wing organisation, Socialist Forum. Members of the Socialist Forum lobbied for the scrapping of the ANZUS treaty, making Leningrad a sister city of Melbourne, and introducing a super-tax on the rich.

From 1996 to 1998, Gillard served as Chief of Staff to John Brumby, at that time the Victorian Opposition Leader. She was responsible for drafting the affirmative action rules within the Labor Party in Victoria that set the target of preselecting women for 35 per cent of winnable seats within a decade. She also played a role in the foundation of EMILY's List, the pro-choice fund-raising and support network for Labor women.'

It doesn't surprise me that Gillard is immoral enough to be involved in drafting affirmative action rules. After all, this animal got the job by figuratively stabbing the former PM in the back and then dumping his body in a ditch. Gillard and her co-conspirators have shown their moral inferiority with this atrocious act, and unless they pull a surprisingly pro-male rabbit out of their feminist hats i will for the first time vote for the conservatives or an independent party.

'i will for the first time vote for the conservatives or an independent party.'

Let's not forget that as Health Minister, the lesser half of Abbott & Costello placed the over-hyped, over-priced HPV-vaccine on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), against the advice of his own department for no other reason than to position himself as the great crusader of wimmins health.

Conservatives won't hesitate to conscript the rest of us into their misguided chivalry, if they have calculated that there are a greater number of wimmins votes to be had than Mens votes lost.

It seems that in parliamentary so-called democracies the world over, men are only being given a choice between bad or worse.

I always vote, if just to vote against the most anti-male parties (Democrats for the US).
