RADAR ALERT: Mainstream Media Suppresses Stories Of Violence By Women
When Rhianna hit Chris Brown in the head with her stiletto heels while he was behind the wheel trying not to lose control of the car and Brown overreacted1, what did mainstream media report? They showed us Rhianna's injuries, but were totally silent about what part Rhianna's temper played in the altercation.
When Tiger Woods' wife attacked him with a golf club2, the mainstream media ignored his wife's violence. Hardly any of the mainstream media reported that the Florida Highway Patrol described Woods' injuries as "serious".3 Instead they waited for more stories about Woods' affairs to come out so they could spin it as a tale of Woods' infidelities rather than about female-perpetrated domestic violence.
Now we have the case of Mary J. Blige, a woman who purports to be concerned about domestic violence, so much so that she has provided part of the funding for a domestic violence shelter named in her honor4. But her comment, "Women from all walks of life, not just women from poverty-stricken areas," makes it clear that only female victims will be helped by her shelter. And her actions make it clear that she believes that as a female she enjoys the privilege of using violence whenever any male displeases her. On Christmas Eve, the New York Post reported that she punched her husband in the face, drawing blood, because she thought he was flirting with a waitress.5 How has the rest of the mainstream media covered her hypocrisy? The silence has been deafening!

Thanks, RADAR!
Having a RADAR Alert on MANN referring in large part to MANN substance posted, now on MANN itself... wow, my head is spinning enough from 2009's bizarre twists and turns of news and politics, but this could keep me running in my hamster wheel for days! =)
Thanks gain, RADAR, for propagating this issue.
The more I think about this, the more annoyed I get. I mean, she SLUGGED her husband in public, drawing BLOOD, over the CRIME of just talking to *another woman* and the media has largely said absolutely nothing. SHE has said absolutely nothing. No explanation, no apology, nada, nothing, zip.
And she will likely suffer no loss at all in her marketability as a consequence. If anything, her (largely female) fans will follow her all the more ardently! Meanwhile, Tiger Woods, philanderer though he may be, is actually a DV assault victim whose assailant is set to take him for $1/2 billion (just for starters) and faces no charges, all while he is losing his marketability fast as one sponsor after another exercises some clause in a contract to get out from under the deluge of feminine rage against their sponsored athlete's "cheating a$$" by refraining from buying Tiger WoodsTM (co-branded) watches and Tiger WoodsTM (co-branded) golf clubs as prezzies for their husbands and/or other S/Os. (Anyone who thinks the buying decisions for things like these are made by men better think again, and the sponsors know it - I know of no man who makes buying decisions for anything based on who is wearing it or hawking it).
So I just sit back and mumble, as my great-great-great-great-great grandfather used to say, "Absolutelyunfreakinggoddamnbelievable!!"
I believe in equality
That being said whenever a woman strikes me I choose to defend myself. That is not to say that I use it as an excuse to vent my frustrations, or to inflict bodily harm. That is to say that when it comes to women, I make a point. I have never yet in my entire life truly physically harmed a woman. But, I would not harm a man that attacked me if I knew I could dispatch him with ease. As they say, timing is everything. The only true solution would be true equality, one vote one person, and the rights and responsibilities of a true citizen for every Human Being. But, then again that is just my opinion! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
