"Feminists Do Not Represent the Views of Most Americans"
Article here. Excerpt:
'No, feminism is not dead. It's worse. It has become fully inculcated into modern society, to the degree that any woman who takes an alternative view is routinely marginalized and downright vilified. When I wrote a blog about the Larry King segment, mocking some of the ridiculous things the women said – "It's not until we fall in love with ourselves that the world will begin to honor and support us"; "I suggest women get financially independent because that gives you freedom and empowerment to love yourself first"; "Once you are complete you look for others in your life to complement your completeness" – I got this response from a reader:
Your words make me ill. really, really ill. gross. how could you dismiss women's desire to not be dependent on men? you are an embarrassment to women. i can't believe that someone would say such things. what on earth is wrong with you? so women SHOULD be dependent on men? and NOT love themselves? based on my life experience, and all my amassed world knowledge, that is a recipe for depression and abusive relationships. i am still in shock about your words. your words are extremely dangerous to women!'

This can be characterised simply as narcissism. The trouble with women is they can only love themselves. A man is merely there to fuel and re-enforce her narcissistic ego.
Feminists
I have been attacked by feminist since I was in high school. First it was for the desire to be a stay at home mom (I knew I wanted this from a young age), then it was for being on a professional dance team (aka cheerleader - parading around in skimpy clothes) and then it was for not choosing abortion and then it is my refusal to use birth control pills...
I have been told that I let guys use me, I have no self worth, I have low self esteem, blah blah blah!
Funny though, I am the happiest and healthiest person I know.
(For those that don't like my long posts, quit reading now.)
I remember when I entered high school mid year. They had to put me in whatever classes had openings. One was a business class taught by a lesbian that I am quite sure had never run a business in her life.
She gave us a writing assignment about where we saw ourselves in 10 to 15 years. Now, I was young and dumb, and did not quite catch on that it was supposed to be business related (she never said it had to be).
So I wrote from a 15 year old frame of mind that I would be on tour as a back up dancer and then afterwards I would meet a guy, fall in love and have 4 or 5 kids and be a stay at home mom and so on (Like many 15 year olds I didn't quite grasp reality, but I'm sure none of the other students did either).
My paper came back, and she asked for a re-do all because I had family oriented goals! She asked me what my mom did (she had no idea that my dad was very successful business man- goes to show how in touch she was with the business world). Anyway, when I told her my mom was a stay at home mom, she rolled her eyes. And went on about how that explains my attitude and all I needed was some guidance from 'successful' women.
She implied that my goals were self-limiting, and that my low self-worth that my mother must have imposed on me was clouding my thoughts. She even thought my mom had too many kids (4). She told me I should never have more than two kids, or it will be too hard to have career.
I refused to do the paper over again, that is when I had my first thoughts about leaving high school.
My point is, that there was no way this woman was going to accept the fact that I did not want the same things that she wanted. This seems to be a very common theme among feminists.
