Police find MTU rape report to be false

'HOUGHTON -- Police say the alleged sexual assault that took place on the Michigan Tech campus last month was false.

After a three-week investigation, the woman who said she was sexually assaulted March 23 in the library parking lot has told police the assault did not take place.

The woman is a Michigan Tech student.

The Houghton County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the case to determine if charges will be filed against the student.

This is the second false rape report in Houghton in the past three weeks.'

Seems to me that the "Release the Light" and "Take Back the Night" hysteria that takes place at this time of year is breeding a spate of false accusations.

I really and sincerely wonder if the frequency of rape reports (which are later proven false) goes up after such campus witch hunts. But that kind of research could never get funded.

Two such marches on my city and on my campus in the last week.

For me, knowing what I know about such issues as false accusations, I felt like I was being stung by a thousand bees since the posters started going up.

I seriously thought about a guerrilla poster campaign of my own on the guys bathrooms, to counter the feminist propaganda.

What is so disturbing about this article, is some of the comments that follow. Truly delusional.
