Office on ‘gender’ proposed for UN

'At a forum hosted by the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs in New York this week, a former top United Nations (UN) official criticized the UN’s “deplorable” record on women and the “the hypocrisy within the UN” on gender. In a presentation entitled “The United Nations and Gender: Has Anything Gone Right?,” Stephen Lewis promoted a radical overhaul of the United Nations, starting with a the creation of a new, billion dollar gender office.

Lewis, the former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa and a former Deputy Director of UNICEF, has long been a vociferous supporter of the creation of a “fully-resourced” women’s agency. Such an agency could change the UN and end the “suffocating patriarchy” with a new “sensibility of collaboration.” Lewis continued that this, “would not only help women but rescue the UN from some of its worst behavior.”

In pushing for a “gender” office, Lewis joins radical feminist non-governmental organizations such as Equality Now and the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO). Last year, WEDO commenced a formal campaign for Gender Equality Architecture Reform (GEAR), lobbying for a “stronger, consolidated, higher status women’s entity.” 275 organizations have signed onto the GEAR campaign and WEDO is slated to host two events at the UN headquarters during this year’s annual Commission on the Status of Women meeting in an attempt to rally more support for the new agency.'

...who wishfully believe feminism is on the wane. No, they're not putting half a million feminazis on the streets of D.C. like they did a few years ago. Now they quietly reach internationally (without opposition). Their control of the gender issue is far greater than the G6's on economic issues. There is no comparable player on the field.

And where does the money come from, well the likes of us of course!

And when it comes time to raise taxes to fund this war on men, who will be paying those taxes? Why, men of course! Women, in their infinite victimhood, deserve tax breaks for their businesses and income. After all, there is a wage gap based on bullshit data to remedy!

This may be a little off the cuff, but I'm sure I remember a woman being called a "person of gender" once.

It may have been on TV sometime, it was a long time ago.

Since Gender Studies are really just women's studies in disguise. Or gender issues normally pertain to discrimination against women. A man apparently lacks gender.

I think Lewis must be smoking some hard drugs. As those who disagree with him have pointed out, the UN does way more for women than it does for men already, which proves that this billion dollar expanse is truly uncalled for.

Even if there were as many problems regarding female discrimination as they try to make people believe, the establishment of another figurehead U.N. office certainly won't serve as the panacea to the problem they think it will be.

What it all comes down to is him trying to piss in our ear and tell us it's raining. I think before they even consider this type of thing, they should establish a few commitees regarding men's issues. They do support equality, after all, right?

how much $$$ the amerikan femvictims hosed the u.s. gov't for, regularly,
and, like any corporation for profit would do,
go global, bigtime.
they probably also heard about the TRILLION$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ floating around,
looking for a victim home.
it's a war w/ few men involved. and all males & children paying dearly.
too busy fighting elsewhere, i guess?

on another sour note

saw a video today at work (mandatory) about male (soldier) suicide.
had a guy in iraq fighting & suddenly blindsided by his fiance.
what told him something was wrong was his empty checking account.
he called, no answer for a loooong time, then she answers and slowly
drops bomb after bomb on him.

i'm pregnant (happy him) then her crying and i'm sorry time after time.
who? best friend?
i'm sooo sorry.
my checking account? many thousands gone...boyfriend did it?
and maybe you should get someone to come and get your car.
rubbing his head in desperation it finally dawns on him,
"he's driving my car too?!!"

i'm soo sorry.
i gotta go, he's here.

from here you can take different routes (click, click)

and all way through this you can take different paths.

i imagine one or more will take you to suicide.

it was so depressing we only needed to see it once.

we took a path you would want him to take, so he survived.

no sleep...fight....no sleep... fight....???? very disturbing.

i've heard it said on this site before, if young men figure
out how their gov is hosing them they may someday decide
it's not worth it.

maybe more truth there than ....?

believe, this sort of thing is not uncommon for these guys.
